I Will Not Let You Fall

Why was Tina here? Why had she come to her yesterday? She had broken up with her, she didn’t want to be with her, so what was she doing here, Bette wondered, replaying in her mind how Tina had held her while she cried her heart out at, how Tina had dragged her to one of Shane’s guest rooms and how she had taken care of her. Why was Tina always there to catch her, always at the right time, when she needed her the most? Maybe some time in the future Tina wouldn’t be able to catch her in time and Bette could finally fall.

Bette knew Tina was suffering because of her. She didn’t want Tina to suffer. Why couldn’t Tina just leave her and never ever come back, why would Tina keep persisting in being so self-sacrificing, how could any human have so much love in them? Or was Tina just blindly idolizing her and couldn’t find strength to leave her, which she clearly wanted to do?

Bette reached her hand up and caressed her fingertips over Tina’s back almost absently, with a slow, restrained tenderness. There were cuts and grazes on her knuckles, such a rough contrast to Tina’s silky, smooth skin. The brunette raised herself up on one elbow, bent over and began trailing her lips across Tina’s bare shoulder, pausing to drink in the scent of her skin, the scent that would forever be embedded in every layer of Bette’s consciousness.

Tina stirred and let out the sweetest little breathy moan. ”Babe?” she purred, half-asleep.

”I’m here…” Bette uttered in no more than a whisper, a whisper that was hardly even there.

Turning her head, Tina looked up at the dark-haired woman through the sleep-clouded eyes. ”What time is it?”

The brunette put her forehead against Tina’s shoulder. ”I don’t know…”

Tina frowned slightly. She rubbed her eyes and rolled over toward Bette, making Bette’s head fall limply onto the pillow from her shoulder. Tina winced as she began to study Bette’s face. ”Did you get some sleep?” she asked quietly, knowing the answer already, but somehow needing to confirm what she was seeing.

Bette gave her a feeble smile. ”I don’t think so.”

Looking at her sorrowfully, the blonde sighed. ”Maybe it’s time to start taking sedatives as the doctor advised…”

    1. Hi Valerie:

OH, MY GOD, this chapter is amazing, and very hard for me, I needed a cup of tea and cookies to read it, during my lunch break in my job; you made it so real, like watching the movie.

I think that finally, Bette touched bottom I hope she won’t fell farther, and she could start changing things, she needs to think in a wisdomly way; Arnodelo is looking for her, and her only choice is to make a deal with the prosecutor and give away Armodelo and his cartel and gang; she has some money she needs a very good attorney; she has to start thinking about a new begining with Tina, after she pays her bill to society (which I hope will be low, with the help of a lawyer) to the system; anyway, the people she killed were criminal, and she didn’t kill the girl, Miranda, that was killed by Dominic and Arnodelo.
Wow, Valerie, the story is very good, I hope the end would be very good also.

Thank you so much for the wonderful and spine-chilling chapter.

I’ll be anxiously waiting for the next one, pps.

    3. Wow! Thank you for an amazing yet very tearful (for me) chapter! I was hoping beyond hope that Bette was an undercover cop but it doesn’t look like it! Anxiously awaiting for next chapter! By the way you are a great writer!

    4. Hope, Tasha is alive – not to add to all other charges against Bette. Shane is a great friend indeed. And Tina is a bit of a disappointment to me. Maybe she is just too young to fight for her love. So its a big question, who will not let fall whom…
Thanks for the great story! That’s definitely not the end yet, is it?
