Let It Happen – Chapter XIV
But Bette leaned forward, as if needing an embrace, too. Tina held out her arms, as she pushed Bette gently back by the shoulders.
“I’m sweaty, baby.”
“I don’t care. I love it when you’re sweaty,” Bette answered, with a weak smile, naughtily. She was still panting.
Tina shook her head, smiling. “Come on baby. Your car’s waiting downstairs… that’s what I was about to tell you… until I saw you, that is!”
Bette sat back, removed Tina’s hands from her shoulders, and kissed those magical fingers.
She contemplated the beautiful blonde kneeling in front of her. I love this woman. Why should that be a problem for anyone?
“T, why don’t you come with me?”
“What?”
“Come with me, baby. Please. I want you to come with me.”
“But I thought….”
“So? We can hang out with Claudia, then we can leave at a decent enough time.”
“But I have to shower, change…I don’t know what to wear,” her protests were trailing out, as Bette pushed her towards the shower in the guest bedroom. Bette was saying “…I’ll get your dress and shoes out, and help you dry out your hair.” While she was in the shower, Bette called George to tell him that she would be slightly delayed, because she was taking Tina, and Tina was getting ready. George started to protest, but Claudia got on the phone and congratulated Bette on the decision. “Just please don’t take too long, as you may have to do a lot of damage control at the party if you left George and I to our own devices over there!”
They got Tina ready in under 30 minutes. And, as they boarded the car, Bette was thinking, this should have been the plan all along. What was I thinking, agreeing to George’s unreasonable request?
They arrived at the building of the penthouse that the dinner party was being held in. The building was rumored to be New York’s most exclusive residential building, and had been built many decades ago by the father of a former First Lady.
“Whose place is this?” Tina asked. Bette shrugged, “I don’t know, but George said our names will be known to the doormen and everybody. He said to just take whatever elevator the doorman takes us to, and it will go straight to the penthouse.”

Please correct (for future writing) the use of the word every for
the correct word….ever! This error pops up frequently in your
otherwise wonderful stories.
For example….this page…in the question…”does it every bother you…”
instead of the correct…”does it ever bother you”.
