    Dinner is served and we talk throughout the meal about our time together and how much we hope to have a lifetime of learning and growing together just like Gus and Florence.  After the meal, I stand and push in my chair and step to Tina’s side of the table. “May I have this dance

    Dinner is served and we talk throughout the meal about our time together and how much we hope to have a lifetime of learning and growing together just like Gus and Florence.  After the meal, I stand and push in my chair and step to Tina’s side of the table.
    “May I have this dance my love?” I hold out my hand and she places her’s within as I help her to her feet.  We make our way to the empty space in front of the sculpture as the quartet begins to play our favorite song…The Way You Look Tonight.  I pull her close and begin to move to the music.  Now, I’m certainly no Tony Bennett, but I can’t help but sing to my T when I hear this song.  We move seamlessly as one to the beat and as the song comes to a close, I hold her tight for a moment longer.  Then, I pull away enough to see her face.  Now is the time.  I take the her hands in mine as I drop down on one knee.

    “I have known from that very first moment that you were my forever.  I will never want or need any other.  You have all of me T, and I promise to give you my best always.  Will you marry me?”

    She has tears in her eyes and her face is beaming as she replies, “Yes! Baby, you have all of me as well and I promise to give you my best always.”

    I take the small box from my jacket pocket and remove the ring and gently place it on her finger.  She pulls me up and into her arms for a deep embrace and we share a kiss that conveys all the things we can never put into words.

    We dance a while longer, have dessert, and then head back to the apartment and make love all night.

    I have a photo of us dancing from that night on the desk at my studio in LA and every time I look at it I remember that day. I think about Gus and Florence and all the wisdom they imparted to us.  I hope that Tina and I can pass that wisdom on to others as we grow.

      you tell from my heart entirely when you wanted a drama-free history, life itself is a drama at times and sometimes enjoy a wonderful escape in Romanticism through stories.
