Life Through a Viewfinder

6:00pm
“It’s time B.”
“Huh? What?”
“It’s time.”
“Oh, ok. Sorry Shaney. I was just thinking about T.”
Shane gives me a knowing grin and a reassuring pat on the back. “Come on McDreamy, lets go get you hitched.” I playfully swat her on the ass for the McDreamy comment and turn to see Kit already tearing up.
“You look amazing baby girl.”
“Thanks Kit and thanks for standing beside me today.”
“Bette, there’s no where else I’d rather be than watching you marry the woman of your dreams. I love seeing you so happy and it makes me proud to see how much you’ve grown up.”
“Yea, she makes me want to be my best ya know?”
“I do know sis. Now let’s get this party started!”
We share a group hug and head down to the beach. Kit and I meet up with our friend James who will be performing the ceremony and go to the front to stand under the arch. The music for the ceremony begins and Alice makes her way down the aisle and joins us at the front.
As the music changes everyone stands and then I see her. She is the most beautiful woman in the world and she is mine. Tina’s dad, Thomas Kennard, walks her down the aisle. My eyes never leave hers and as they approach the arch, a sense of peace overwhelms my soul. I have never been more sure about anything in my life than I am about my love for this woman. She is my destiny and I am honored to become her wife.
We say our vows and seal our union with a kiss. We make our way hand in hand back down the aisle and James announces that the reception will be starting at the pavilion area just down the beach now and the happy couple will join everyone as soon as we finish taking pictures. Carmen leads the way to the reception area and has her DJ booth set up to play some music until the band is ready and throughout the evening when they need to take breaks. We finish up the pictures and greet everyone at the reception before dinner and dancing the night away. It is a day we will never forget and we look at our photo albums every year on our anniversary and thank God for another blessed year together.

you tell from my heart entirely when you wanted a drama-free history, life itself is a drama at times and sometimes enjoy a wonderful escape in Romanticism through stories.
