Love in Control – Chapter II – Savannah (Part 2)

Rian raised her eyebrows and then exchanged a quick glance with Bette. Could be a reprise of their argument yesterday?
Bette shrugged and then asked, “And where is Ed, by the way, Aerin? Didn’t you mention last night that he was your bodyguard who just happens to also be a good trainer?”
Rian nodded her thanks to Bette. “I didn’t know that!”
“Yeah, you missed a few things while Bette and I caught up with each other after dinner. We tried to reach your room but you still had the do not disturb message on.”
Rian gave them a rueful smile. “I ordered in and then went to bed early.”
“Well, I’ll tell you about Ed later …”
Bette snapped her fingers as a light bulb switched on.
She interrupted Aerin. “Sorry, Aerin. But I’ve gotta ask something from you both – do you golf?”
“Junior golfer, actually, ‘til 10th grade,” Aerin answered with a puzzled look. They all stopped walking to look at Bette.
Rian took advantage of the pause, and massaged a foot. “Honey, I grew up surrounded by golf courses. It’s a North Carolina thing, or at least where I grew up.”
Bette clapped her hands excitedly. Awesome! This may work, after all! Aerin can join Rian during the golf tournament. Cade can figure out how to work that out. At least Rian will have Aerin with her and they’ll be together.
“Okay, if you girls don’t have anything planned for the rest of the afternoon, do you think you can join me in the charity golf tournament that’s going on in the resort? I think the Board is hosting it as a fund-raiser for the school. There’s still time to include you.”
Aerin smiled back at Bette, noting the brunette’s excitement about having them join her. “Sure, Bette! Do we make a donation or something to sign up? Happy to do so…”
Rian added, almost at the same time, as she held onto Aerin’s shoulder to help her keep her balance while she massaged her heel, “Would love to. But I may have to hit a bucket out in the practice range, to get my muscle memory working. Haven’t played in ages …”
A wide grin split Bette’s face as she pulled her phone out to tap out a text to Cade. “This totally rocks, girls! And no, don’t worry about the sign-up fee. My friend Cade can take care of that. Good idea about hitting the practice range, though. We can warm up there, and then walk over to the sign-in area.”

So pleased to read your story!
I don’t care that it isn’t a traditional Bette and Tina story line, but i wouldn’t mind if you give them more time in it ;-)
That was such a heart warming talk between Jade and Rian’s mom.
Thanks for the update!
Just Bette and Tina please!!!
It was a little early for my Pinot Noir, but well worth it, as it perfectly paired with your story. In fact, all of your stories are a full-spectrum sensory experience for me. Like a good glass of wine, I get lost in the color, bathe in the aroma, and relish the taste and texture of your scenes. Your give your protagonist characters a rich personality that I can’t help but instantly root for. While Bette and Tina initially drew me this this site and your stories, I really enjoy your other characters just as much.
Aerin virtually stole the words out of my mouth. If I had a professor like Rian during my undergraduate years, perhaps I would have gotten better than a C+ in my Art History class. I may have even been persuaded to change majors with such impassioned lectures.
As I was reading the dialogue between Jade and Rian’s mom, I was thinking that’s the type of mom I wish we had and we all would become. Well done.
Enjoyed it. Thought TJ was headed for a bad fall. Who’s this Kaci? No drama for Bette and Tina please. Thanks
Sky loved the chapter. Love to read more of Bette and Tina but your on a good path.
I normally am only interested in Bette and Tina stories, but not with this one im loving all your characters , and story lines, i can”t wait to read more. Thank you
Thanks for all your comments don70! Am glad you and others enjoy reading about these characters and am happy you find the different storylines they inhabit interesting. Please do continue to let me know your thoughts as this story progresses – based on actual places and people – as we explore what it means to love, and be stripped bare even if fully-clothed, before another.
Genuine art has the power to strengthen the spirit of the people.
I loved Rian lecture, I applaud the end of the lecture.
And please do not let Tina looks at this Kaci, from what I read,
I realized, it will happen.
The complete constellation.
