Love in Control – Chapter II – Savannah (Part 2)

They both spoke at the same time.
“I’m surprised you didn’t use your keys to …”
“I’m sorry that I popped in without telling you both first …”
They both chuckled. Jade motioned that she would hang Hyacinthe’s coat if she wanted to remove it.
“Let me hang on to it for a second, Jade. ‘Til I feel a bit warmer.”
Jade’s bladder reminded her that it really needed to be emptied now.
She squeezed her thighs together automatically and asked, with a deepening blush, “Umm… mom I’m sorry but I have to go … um.. relieve myself.”
Hyacinthe chuckled. “Go, go dear. You’ll find me in the kitchen when you’re done.”
They walked in opposite directions.
Hyacinthe spied the Tiffany & Co. brochure on the floor and bent to pick it up. Hmmm… what have we here? There were a couple of pages that had been marked with old hotel room key cards. As Hyacinthe flipped the brochure open to the first marked page, she heard the house phone ring.
She called out, “Jade, should I get that?”
She heard a faint response. “Yes, please. Could be Jim calling about a problem we’d been having with a permit in the new franchise we’re having problems setting up in Boston.”
Hyacinthe picked up the cordless phone and clicked on the green button. “Hello?”
“Good morning, Miss Wetmore. This is Amber at Tiffany’s. If you can come in in about an hour, instead of tomorrow like we discussed, we’ll be able to squeeze you in. The woman who had the 10:00 am slot called to cancel.” Tiffany’s? Why does Jade have an appointment with this woman from Tiffany’s? Is this why they have this brochure?
“Um… this isn’t her. But I’ll pass the message on. Amber from Tiffany’s, you said?” Hyacinthe repeated, her curiosity about the strange call thoroughly piqued. Is this for a Christmas gift? From Tiffany’s? For Rian, maybe? Wow!
She walked to the kitchen, pinning the cordless phone against an ear, as she flipped the brochure open to the first marked page. Oh my goodness! These don’t look like simple Christmas gifts at all!
Amber laughed lightly. “Oh, I’m sorry. Yes, I’m Amber from Tiffany’s. If Miss Wetmore can make it, we’ll be more than glad to accommodate her. We’ve located several of the rings that she said she’d like to take a closer look at. And they’re all ready to be sized according to the ring size Miss Wetmore told us.”

So pleased to read your story!
I don’t care that it isn’t a traditional Bette and Tina story line, but i wouldn’t mind if you give them more time in it ;-)
That was such a heart warming talk between Jade and Rian’s mom.
Thanks for the update!
Just Bette and Tina please!!!
It was a little early for my Pinot Noir, but well worth it, as it perfectly paired with your story. In fact, all of your stories are a full-spectrum sensory experience for me. Like a good glass of wine, I get lost in the color, bathe in the aroma, and relish the taste and texture of your scenes. Your give your protagonist characters a rich personality that I can’t help but instantly root for. While Bette and Tina initially drew me this this site and your stories, I really enjoy your other characters just as much.
Aerin virtually stole the words out of my mouth. If I had a professor like Rian during my undergraduate years, perhaps I would have gotten better than a C+ in my Art History class. I may have even been persuaded to change majors with such impassioned lectures.
As I was reading the dialogue between Jade and Rian’s mom, I was thinking that’s the type of mom I wish we had and we all would become. Well done.
Enjoyed it. Thought TJ was headed for a bad fall. Who’s this Kaci? No drama for Bette and Tina please. Thanks
Sky loved the chapter. Love to read more of Bette and Tina but your on a good path.
I normally am only interested in Bette and Tina stories, but not with this one im loving all your characters , and story lines, i can”t wait to read more. Thank you
Thanks for all your comments don70! Am glad you and others enjoy reading about these characters and am happy you find the different storylines they inhabit interesting. Please do continue to let me know your thoughts as this story progresses – based on actual places and people – as we explore what it means to love, and be stripped bare even if fully-clothed, before another.
Genuine art has the power to strengthen the spirit of the people.
I loved Rian lecture, I applaud the end of the lecture.
And please do not let Tina looks at this Kaci, from what I read,
I realized, it will happen.
The complete constellation.
