Love in Control – Chapter II – Savannah (Part 2)

Hyacinthe finally broke and began to cry.
Jade walked over quickly and pulled her into a gentle embrace. Hyacinthe spoke through her sobs, in s muffled voice against Jade’s chest. “I worried so much about her after she returned, and especially when she was going through all those operations and treatments, and sessions with the psychiatrist, and rehab … sometimes I really didn’t know if she would ever come back to me. That sunny daughter, I mean, who’d been such a ray of light all her life, full of promise and optimism.”
Jade gave her a box of tissues that she’d swiped from the kitchen table and released her from the light embrace. Hyacinthe blew her nose delicately but continued to sob quietly. Jade enveloped her again in a light hug. “I think she’s almost all the way back. I can see, though, that the quality of her joy and happiness now is different. Her eyes are now sparkly again, but sometimes, they look like they’re harboring a secret. It comes and goes, but when she looks at you … that “something” goes away, especially when you’re not looking at her, and maybe she thinks nobody’s noticing it … it makes me so happy to see her glow, Jade, as she gazes at you. She’s definitely a woman in love, and it makes her all the more desirable to others, I’m sure … I can see that she only has eyes for you, though, Jade.”
She pulled away from Jade’s light embrace and reached out to cup the tall blonde’s face gently with her hands. “When I first met you, it was here in this kitchen, remember? You’d just come in from the garden out back, after laying down the cabling and then connecting LED lights or something like, as you were explaining to Rian. You hadn’t noticed I was here, and Rian was being naughty and was not interrupting you as you moved about the kitchen, fixing yourself a drink with ice, talking with excitement about how the path around the garden would now be much safer to walk around in, and about how Rian wouldn’t be in danger of stumbling around anymore, if she decided to move about on her crutches, because you’d cleared the path and had lit it up. You’d stripped off your workout jacket, and were sweating slightly from all your exertions, despite the cool weather, and all I could think about was “what a perfect physical specimen this woman is!”

So pleased to read your story!
I don’t care that it isn’t a traditional Bette and Tina story line, but i wouldn’t mind if you give them more time in it ;-)
That was such a heart warming talk between Jade and Rian’s mom.
Thanks for the update!
Just Bette and Tina please!!!
It was a little early for my Pinot Noir, but well worth it, as it perfectly paired with your story. In fact, all of your stories are a full-spectrum sensory experience for me. Like a good glass of wine, I get lost in the color, bathe in the aroma, and relish the taste and texture of your scenes. Your give your protagonist characters a rich personality that I can’t help but instantly root for. While Bette and Tina initially drew me this this site and your stories, I really enjoy your other characters just as much.
Aerin virtually stole the words out of my mouth. If I had a professor like Rian during my undergraduate years, perhaps I would have gotten better than a C+ in my Art History class. I may have even been persuaded to change majors with such impassioned lectures.
As I was reading the dialogue between Jade and Rian’s mom, I was thinking that’s the type of mom I wish we had and we all would become. Well done.
Enjoyed it. Thought TJ was headed for a bad fall. Who’s this Kaci? No drama for Bette and Tina please. Thanks
Sky loved the chapter. Love to read more of Bette and Tina but your on a good path.
I normally am only interested in Bette and Tina stories, but not with this one im loving all your characters , and story lines, i can”t wait to read more. Thank you
Thanks for all your comments don70! Am glad you and others enjoy reading about these characters and am happy you find the different storylines they inhabit interesting. Please do continue to let me know your thoughts as this story progresses – based on actual places and people – as we explore what it means to love, and be stripped bare even if fully-clothed, before another.
Genuine art has the power to strengthen the spirit of the people.
I loved Rian lecture, I applaud the end of the lecture.
And please do not let Tina looks at this Kaci, from what I read,
I realized, it will happen.
The complete constellation.
