Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
“I’ll go with a Prosecco while I wait for him to finish his drink,” she’d told the waiter, and then had smiled at Brom cheekily. “Mild, fizzy drink. That ok with you?”
Brom noted her empty glass now. “Your metabolism is off the charts, d’you know that?” he responded drily to her question about getting another drink. She was relaxed against the deep cushions of the leather sofa, playing with the empty glass with one hand, one foot perched casually on the stone edge of the roaring fireplace, looking thoroughly relaxed, in her element, it seemed, while he remained watchful, sitting alertly on one end of the sofa. “Are you trying to drink me under the table? Hoping I keep pace with you, lush?”
She laughed out loud and then quickly covered her mouth to keep from drawing attention to them.
“What was that, a sense of humor, while on the “job?” Is that what happened just then?” She elbowed him on his side, as she ribbed him half-mockingly.
In spite of himself, Brom had to laugh in response. “Don’t, please! Ticklish there. But, it’s true. Keeping up with you would’ve put me under the table, without a doubt. I have to keep my wits about me when I’m watching somebody, you know.”
Morgan gave him a teasing smile, and, on instinct, grabbed his arm, lifted it over her shoulder, and forced him to sit back on the sofa, just like she was. “You’re not providing her with security tonight, Sir Knight.”
Brom was about to laugh at her tease, but tensed upon realizing she was not letting go of his arm, and that it would be draped around her shoulder as long as she had a hold on him like this. Morgan ran her fingertips over his forearm, a light, series of fluttery caresses, and laughter died in his throat. “It’s okay to relax and enjoy yourself, handsome.”
He breathed out slowly. “Easy there, beautiful.” She couldn’t resist a last wink, and then stopped caressing him with her fingertips. She held onto his forearm to make sure his arm remained where she wanted it to be. “Why? This isn’t relaxing you?”
With a grunt, Brom signaled to the waiter who’d been serving them to refresh Morgan’s drink.

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
