Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
Morgan didn’t immediately respond, as if struggling with how much to tell him. “But the high really isn’t worth it,” she admitted quietly, after a few minutes of shared silence. He squeezed her against him again. She allowed herself to melt into him, nestling her head into his neck, snaking her arms around his waist. This feels good; feels right. He feels so strong, so sure, so …
He held her even closer. “You have control of that power, you know? Your power to seduce…” Brom said after the waiter left. “And it doesn’t have to be for sex with…”
It took her a couple of seconds to register what he was implying.
She laid a finger on his lips to keep him from saying more. “You don’t want to get close to me, Brom…we’re just playing here. Plus, as you said, you’re a gentleman, and you play fair …” she interrupted him in a soft, warning voice. Reluctantly, she started to draw away from him.
He tugged gently at the finger on his lips, and tightened his hold on her, unwilling to let her pull away just yet. “You think you’d have been better off going back to the strip club tonight?” he challenged her gently, cutting her off. “Instead of being here with me?” He didn’t want to put it so bluntly but she had a tone in her voice that implied she was going to fight him all the way in his quest to rescue her.
They’d been so engrossed in their conversation that they’d failed to notice Bette and Tina had joined them in the open-deck level, heading towards the comfortable leather couch they were relaxing in.
“Well, this is a nice spot, don’t you think, T?”
“Mmmm … yeah. Starry night overhead, romantic fireplace, overstuffed, super comfy leather couch …”
Brom and Morgan looked away from each other and drew away from the other with guilty looks on their faces. Bette and Tina were standing over them with teasing smiles as they looked on, arms crossed over.
“How’d you find …” Brom started to ask.
“Um… I texted her that we were going up to the third level,” Morgan admitted sheepishly.
Brom flicked a puzzled look at her, and then eyed the striking couple, elegantly dressed tonight, standing over them with knowing grins. I am never going to live this down with Bette and Tina. I guess this’ll be payback for all the teasing I’ve given them over their own romance through all these years!

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
