Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
He went on the offensive, refusing to give them any more ground. “And what are the two of you doing here, anyway? I thought you’d agreed to stay away to avoid making Rian uncomfortable? And doesn’t Tina have preparations to make for the big proposal scene later …”
“Got everything under control,” Tina dismissed his opening gambit with a flick of her slim wrist, batting away is first offensive effortlessly. “Besides … Rian had texted Bette that it would be alright for us to join the two of you. Do a double-date?”
Bette winked at Brom. You are soooo going to pay for all your teasing in the past, Brom. And we are going to enjoy every excruciating moment!
The brunette started things off. “So … as I was just telling Tina, this looks like a nice, cozy, romantic spot the two of you snagged over here …”
Before Brom could answer back, they overheard some commotion in Rian’s side of the terrace, and they all swung around in time to see Rian had stood up, and was apparently getting ready to leave her table. The guys around her had started standing up also, protesting, cajoling, trying anything to keep the blonde from leaving. When she was a few feet clear of her table, she swiveled around to blow all of them kisses, and resumed making her way to the other end of the terrace. Where Jade’s table was.
Uh oh.
Brom and Morgan stood up simulataneously and were about to head towards that side of the terrace but Bette laid a steadying hand on Brom’s shoulder. “It’s okay. She’s just going to make her move. She’s got to get Jade up and out of here soon, She’s got a surprise planned for Jade, and ….”
“Rian’s surprise planned for Jade has to happen soon?” Tina swiveled around to look at Bette, a worried look on her face.
“Because Jade has one planned for Rian also … and it’s a pretty good one. I pulled a number of strings to make it happen, Bette.”
Okay, maybe we should have coordinated this with each other?
“Can you tell me what it is?” Bette asked, confused about the increasingly worried look in her beloved’s face.
“Why don’t you tell me first what you and Rian have cooked up?”

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
