Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
Tina rounded on Brom and Morgan. “Can you two stop Rian from proposing to Jade in Central Park?” The way Tina made it sound brooked no argument: she worded it like a request, but it really wasn’t. “We’re working on moving back the surprise party to celebrate their engagement to after midnight …while making sure their respective proposals happen somehow.”
It was Brom’s and Morgan’s turn to exclaim. “WHAT?!!”
Hazel eyes glinted, lit up by the sparks from the fireplace. “Yeah, that’s right. I am not about to let a kick-ass proposal Jade and I have worked hard to set up go down the drain because …”
“I get it… I get it…” Morgan sighed. She pulled on a protesting Brom’s arm. “C’mon Brom. Let’s go stop a proposal …”
Bette and Tina could hear Brom grumble as the pair headed out. “I never thought I’d ever have to stop a woman from proposing to …”
“Aw, c’mon handsome. This is one lesbian drama you can tell your grandkids about one day … not that they would ever believe you, of course!”

The girls who’d been crowded into Jade’s table finally turned to leave, one by one, acknowledging that the competition, in the form of Rian-dressed-as-Nikki, was not about to leave the vicinity of the table, and that the blonde stud they’d been hanging out with was completely taken by this new arrival, rather than with one of them. It was clear Jade would be ignoring them from now on, as she continued to make eyes with the sexy new arrival. The last one gave Rian another head-to-toe appraisal before walking away with a toss of abundant dark hair, but not before leaning over the table, trying to plant a kiss on Jade, who leaned away from it.
“Umm.. so long, Agnes. It was nice seeing you, again, after all these years,” Jade said quietly, still leaning back, away from Agnes’ reach.
As Agnes frowned, about to retort, her friends called out to her. “C’mon! Just give up on her, will ya? We’re heading to the bar where that band is playing…”
Rian leaned against a nearby tall stool to watch the group stagger out of sight, mouthing “buh-bye” to Agnes and waving her off as the dark haired girl slinked away.

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
