Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
“I am desperately in love with you, Jade,” Rian added quietly. The waiter backed away.
“Does this mean the role-play is over, babe?” Jade asked confusedly. She sucked another breath in and held it when Rian run the same high heel up her other leg, tracking circles on her inner thigh before coming to a stop an inch before reaching her mound. Rian tapped that mound lightly with her toe as she purred, resuming her Nikki persona, “Not by a long shot, lover. Especially now that I’ve found the person I’m leaving this bar with tonight. Problem is she hasn’t asked … yet …”
Jade tossed the rest of her drink down and swallowed as quickly as she could without going dizzy. The scotch burned on its way down, but what the hell. Can’t keep a beautiful woman waiting, right? She set the heavy bottomed glass down none-to-gently. “Well, I’m asking, Nikki. You ready to go?”
“Anytime you are, sexy,” Rian murmured, skimming her heel down the inner thigh of her lover, tracing the seam to its natural end, saw she’d elicited from her girlfriend the reaction she wanted, and then rose slowly.
They held hands, interlocking fingers tightly as they walked hurriedly towards the staircase. The guys who were with Rian-as-Nikki earlier observed them leave in silence, until one of them whistled appreciatively as they ogled Rian one last time while she swept past them. Jade turned to give them a small salute. She dropped a quick kiss on Rian-as-Nikki’s lips for good measure.
Brom and Morgan cut them off before they got to the landing of the staircase, however.
“Hey you two,” Brom greeted them cheerily. Jade looked at him a touch impatiently. “Oh, hey Brom, we’re heading out now. Thanks for staying close to her tonight.”
“We had fun tonight, too …” Morgan cut in with a smile. She nudged Rian with an elbow in a friendly manner. “You slayed tonight, girl!”
“Uh huh .. yeah… thanks to you, Morgan!”
Morgan was about to say something else when Rian added quickly, “But — why don’t we catch up tomorrow? Like Jade said, we’ve somewhere we gotta be, and -”
The smaller woman gripped her forearm, still friendly. “Yeah, um, about that. There’s something that’s come up ….”

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
