Never Say Never – Chapter 1 ((Rewrite))

Alice made her way through the seemingly empty house, echoes of moans coming from her roommate/best friend’s bedroom proved her otherwise. She rolled her eyes as she walked passed the closed door, ignoring the exaggerated sounds and made her way to the kitchen island.

”The Planet is a gay bar anyways” Alice continued as she threw her purse onto the marble counter, ignoring the things that had spilled out of it as she grabbed an apple from a bowl nearby. ”****And you’re underage. We’re not even playing there this weekend so why would you even want to go?”

Tina sighed on the other end, knowing that there was no way she would be able to convince Alice without admitting to her reasons for wanting to go to The Planet. Look, there’s this girl that’s going to be there and I just .. I really want to see her okay?

Alice scoffed as she bit into her apple, replying to her sister with a full mouth. “You say it as if you like her or something” When she was met with silence, Alice couldn’t help the way her eyes widened in surprise. She groaned and shook her head before dropping it into an upraised palm, “Oh God, Tina. You’re not gay”

How can you even say that? Tina laughed incredulously.

“Because you’re not” Alice replied with a heavy sigh, “You’re just going through a college experimental phase. It happens to everyone”

Its sooo not even like that Tina said defensively.

Alice examined her apple, looking for the best possible area to bite into. “Is too”

    Is not

“Is too” Alice replied in a sing-song voice and bit into her apple, unable to stop the smirk spreading across her face when she heard the frustrated sigh over the phone. She had always enjoyed the verbal sparring between herself and her sister because it made their relationship the same as any other pair of biological siblings.

They weren’t related by blood but according to Alice and Tina, that type of bond couldn’t have made them any closer. It was a big change from how they felt about each other when they first met.

Alice’s mother had married husband number 3 aka Tina’s father when Alice was 9 and Tina was 7 but by then both girls were more than used to the fact that they were their parents’ “one and only”. They practically hated each other and fought all the time, neither girl able accept the other as family.
