Al, I need a favor

Alice rolled her eyes at the sound of her sister’s voice and her lack of manners in terms of greeting someone. She wondered where the younger sibling had gotten that from. Surely not from Alice herself.

”Hello to you too, baby sis”

Sorry The voice breathed on the other end, I’m just really excited and I really do need a favor.

”Big shocker there” Alice mumbled as she dug deeper into her purse in search of the keys to her house. She wildly combed through its contents with no avail, growing frustrated with each passing second.

Oh come on, I haven’t asked for something in a long time

”Yeah, if seven days qualifies as a long time”

Alice dropped to her knees and spilled out everything she had in her purse onto the front porch, ignoring the sound of her best friend’s voice in her head. She had been lectured numerous times about having too many things in her purse and Alice refused to acknowledge the fact that maybe her best friend had been right.

She moved some things around and sure enough under a notebook, tangled between her headphones were her keys. Her eyes lit up with excitement as she grabbed them triumphantly in her hand, ”Yes!”

Completely oblivious to her sister’s grand accomplishment, Tina’s voice filled Alice’s ears once more, I need you to take me to The Planet on Saturday

Alice quickly swiped up everything lying on the porch back into her purse before rising to a stand, ”No”

Oh, come on. My car is in the shop. I’m sure Bette won’t mind.

”It’s not about Bette” Alice replied as she unlocked the door to her house, ”I mind”

Why?

”Well for one” Alice sighed with a roll of her eyes as she pushed her way inside the house, ”You’ve never wanted to go to The Planet before. We’ve been playing there since the place opened six months ago and you haven’t gone not once”

It was silent on the other end for a moment and Alice knew it was because the guilt had set in with her little sister. Not that it bothered her. Tina had always been her biggest supporter and Alice would be lying if she said that Tina’s lack of appearance as of late didn’t sting just a little.
