    Since leaving for college, Bette had made it her own personal mission not to discuss anything about the life she had left behind. As much as she loved and cherished where she grew up, graduation night had left a deep enough scar that Bette never wanted to recall the events or any other leading up to that point.

    It had been relatively easy to keep the closed parts of her heart to herself, never really getting close with any of the women she had been with over the years. That was until about six months ago when she met the beautiful Emma London, the first actual girlfriend she’d had since-

    “You should answer it” Emma cut into Bette’s thoughts as she reached behind herself and blindly grabbed the cellphone. She held it between them as it continued to ring.

    Bette swallowed a sigh as she tried to hide her discomfort, pushing down the annoyance she felt at seeing the excitement swirling in Emma’s emerald orbs. She fully understood the redhead’s desire to learn more about the brunette she had deemed a mystery early in their relationship but Bette felt unable to do or say anything to indulge her.

    It wasn’t that Bette didn’t care for Emma because she really did, learning early on that there was more to the redhead than any of the model stereotypes and assumptions that were often in the tabloids. In such a short time, Emma touched a part of Bette’s heart that the brunette had thought long dead but unfortunately it still wasn’t enough. As much as she wanted to share deeply personal things with the redhead, Bette just .. couldn’t.

    The phone stopped ringing only to resume a second later, signaling the start of a new call. Bette glanced down and saw Alice’s name flash on the screen once again and somehow was able to suppress an eye roll. Either her best friend was being her usual annoying persistent self or she was calling about something important.

    After leaving her hometown, Bette initially had chosen to cut all ties with anything that even remotely reminded her of her failed relationship which unfortunately included her circle of best friends. She learned very early on that leaving them behind wasn’t an option, the constant barrage of phone calls, emails and text messages from them possibly playing a part in her decision.

    5. So, Bette – model, really? And Tina – single or with someone, like Brenda?

      I know it’s probably too early, but i have a suggestion how we can get rid from Emma. Maybe Emma London go to the London?)

      Waiting for the next part and what road you give for B&T. By the way – start this story something similar for you story “Sole mates” but in reverse. Bette (Tina) going to home town where lives her ex-girfriend Tina (Bette)

      Hmm, i have to be a litlle patient before you reveal what happened between Bette & Tina Seven years back, ok but you know i am not a very good at waiting ????

      Glad that Bette stayed in contact with her friends all these years.

      So Emma is the first ” relationship” after Tina, she will have to prepare to say goodbye after Bette will meet Tina at her sisters bar, no way that theirs relationship will develop in more.

      Tina, working for Kit or is she co-owner with Kit? And what happened with her the last Seven years?

      Ok, i know, i am asking to much questions and have to be patient.

    13. Ahhh another fic recommended to me by a friend and I got so happy knowing you’re the author you truly are one of my favourites bless you for writing and always writing Bette and Tina so perfectly they truly are soulmates and still so so in love ahhh
