As I glance at them, I was hoping Shane wouldn’t let slip about Danielle’s job opportunity. I know exactly how Bette would begin to act if she found it out, I would never hear the end of how Danielle should have already chosen.

“You know what, here is to Alice, Helena and Peggy Peabody for bringing us all here, this place is amazing.” I say standing to my feet as we all gather around a table in the restaurant of the resort. “I know we have just gotten here, but I’m pretty sure everyone is with me, when I say this is going to be an amazing trip.” I raise my glass before taking a sip.

“Thank you so much, T.” Alice says smiling. “But this wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for Helena and Peggy.”

“This trip wouldn’t be what it is going to be, if it wasn’t for you girls.” Helena says with that charming British accent.

I look behind me to the kids that sit at a separate table from us to notice them smiling and laughing.

“Does anyone remember that trip to Palm Springs for that “Dinah Shore Golf Classic for women”?”Shane cuts in. “I think it was you, me, Tina, Dana and Jenny.” Shane speaks again.

“When Dana first met and slept with Tonya.” Alice begins to crack with laughter.

“Oh god, Tonya. That woman was another story.” I cut in.

“Do you remember that ridiculous moment when you gave her the money for gas, Alice? And she didn’t even use it and gave you not a dime of your money back.” Shane says before taking a sip of beer.

“I think this is the first time, everyone has been together for a trip.” Alice says. “The odd ones out were always the two of you.” Alice points at me and towards Bette.

“I was a very busy working woman.” Bette cuts in.

“I was the same.”

“This is why we need to enjoy this trip and let nothing happened to destroy it!” Alice raises her glass again. “To us! And our first ever trip- all together! And to Dana and Jenny!”

“To Dana and Jenny.” Everyone repeats and we all drink.

I begin to feel a presence staring at me, I look up and notice Bette.
