Remember Who You Are 15
The first piece was of a woman, emerging from something… water, or a net… or a door made of vines, it was up to the viewer to decide.
The woman appeared to be rising from her knees with her arms outstretched and lifted to the sky, her head and shoulders back in triumph. It was rudimentary, undeveloped and left much to the viewers imagination, but it was clear the woman had overcome something hard, something that deserved celebrating, something that had required resiliency and perseverance.
Bette walked slowly around the figure, her fingers lightly touching the metal, cold and smooth under her skin.
Shane took a step towards Bette, but Tina grabbed her arm gently to prevent her from entering the room further. “Wait. Watch her…” she whispered, “you can see everything she is feeling about what she sees in the piece of art if you watch her face… it’s fascinating… I love it…”
Shane stopped, taking Carmen’s hand, and the three friends watched quietly as Bette took in each piece, lost to her own thoughts.
The second piece was of a tiny child and appeared to be finished but again edgy, melding in with the metal that surrounded and protected. Somehow Elena had infused different colors in the metal, creating a mosaic.
The child was hiding, blending in perfectly with the coverage overhead, and did not appear afraid, but it was hard to tell as only the edges of the features were completed. If Bette had to guess, the child felt safe in it’s hiding place, secure that it could wait to be seen.
The metal here was worked to look like foliage, reminiscent of the Jungle movie Elena had worked on, and highly detailed… whereas in contrast, the child was imprecise, almost otherworldly.
This piece alone showed the complexity and brilliance of Elena’s work. Work that set her apart from any other artist in her field.
Tina smiled softly, she loved to observe Bette when she was transfixed by a new piece of art. Her emotions played across her face, and she would often stand for considerable time as her reactions connected with what she saw in the work, processed the emotion that was evoked.

Loved the detail of your writing describing the three sculptures.
I felt like I was there looking at them.
Thank you Bubcris, honestly that was the hardest part to write… so many drafts lol :)
BK,
Agree with bubcris1 for sure!
Was fun to try and see the sculptures including the colors of the metals in my own imag.
Loved that Tibette was able to talk about the child lost AND hopefully of one to come!!!
Lorrrrd will we be able to stand your exquisitely sensual scene of that “let’s make a baby” encounter?? I’ve got my hand fan going at warp2 speed just thinkin’ ’bout it.
OK, OKay, back to the chptr….WhooHooo it’s finally time for the Opening but even more so the showdown with Eric in Chicago!!!! Can’t wait to see how Tibette will handle his butt!! Afterall, Tina promised Bette she would come up with a plan
Hand fan to warp speed, that made me chuckle. Thank you for your ongoing comments and observations. Chicago is coming up fast like a bad rash…. :)
Hi BK
I agree with you, it is fantastic go see new stories and authors who have returned!
Amazing chapter as always.
The way you described the three pieces, it felt that i was in front of them myself!
You show us each time again how Tibette have grown! Just wonderful!
I am excited to read the next chapter!
Thank you BiBi, for reading and letting me know your thoughts. I want them to grow, just wish the show could give us that as well….
You’re quite right the return of great Authors and some wonderful stories for the New Year.
Loved the description of the Sculptures!
Looking forward to more soon please

Thank you for Bette’s apology! Really heartfelt. Both learned much about an open communication and still have a few miles to go. Let’s see what idea Tina has for Eric and the situation at the studio. And how Bette will react to it.
Beautifull description of Elena’s art. I hope she’ll soon get the credit for her work at the movie as well.
The scene in the bathtub? Sizzling hot and extremely sensual. Love it.
Another great chapter, BK, thanks for sharing this with us :-)
I am a sucker for bathtubs, so much potential…. so little time :)
Yes, indeed. In my mind there are so many steamy, loving scenes for bathtubs. In reality….not so many. More like flooding of the bathroom, slipping in the tub etc. ;-p
I love the way Bette and Tina describe the old way of settling disagreements to their new way settling disagreements. I particularly like that they describe themselves as “overgrown toddler” and a “childish tantrums”. And the the fact that both were to bent, bound and determined to punish the other without taking into consideration of the facts. And with all that drama, they ended up working longer hours so they didn’t have to be with each other. It’s no wonder they ended up splitting up and seeking comfort and attention somewhere else.
This is how you repair marriages and damaged relationships. You stop demanding. You stop yelling. You stop accusing and condemning. You start to listen and really hear what is being said. You talk in advance of a decision. You share your hopes, dreams, and fears. You praise and compliment your partner. You apologize and take responsibility for your mistakes and misdeeds. You look for compromise and win-win solutions where everyone benefits. You realize that shit happens and do the best you can with the situation. And sometime that shit is no ones fault and no one needs to be blamed or punished for. Life is too short to take significant portions of your life in a disagreement.
I love the art work. I love that Tina knows Bette so well that she knows what her facial expression mean when she is looking at art. She sees her emotions. That is love…..
Great…Great chapter… Love this Tina and Bette and they way they a maturing. “You’ve come a long way baby”.
Love love your second paragraph, all of it. Thank you for reading and commenting!
What can I say? I totally agree with all the preceding comments about the way this relationship has positively grown! I am unable to think of enough superlatives to describe how completely I enjoy your writing! I can literally “get lost” in your stories about my very favorite couple, and look forward to every posting! Thank you, especially for “Remember Who You Are”.
Thank you Dr. A. High praise indeed. I can get lost in this couple too….
