“Baby, whatever you want. But… well… this will show everyone that Elena did the work on the movie set, it’s the same technique. It will be huge news Bette. Jodie has never demonstrated this ability with her own work….”
Bette shrugged. “Yes. This will fuel the rumors that Jodie is a talentless hack. Good, it’s about fucking time. Her work consists of fusing large pieces of metal together in unconventional ways, she has only gained notoriety because few women choose to work with this material”
“Bette, she took all the credit when the movie released. She lobbied Aaron to have only her name listed as the Lead Artist and Set Designer for the metal jungle. I just read an interview she did for The Rolling Stone, she came across as a visionary for the metal work in the movie. Not one mention of Elena.”
“Tee, I don’t care about her…”
“I understand that. But I want you to know this puts you in the center of the story. It’s not just about the movie anymore or the footage we added to the behind the scenes shots. And what about Charlotte?”
“Charlotte will understand. I have other minor artists at the Gallery, it’s a well-known technique to introduce a new artist when you showcase a big name. I have complete liberty to run the show how I want, it’s in the contract.”
“Ok… well, good. I need you to know… there were two voice messages on my cell today from reporters wanting to talk about the artwork in the movie. Alice is effectively stirring the pot…”
“Fuck Jodie. I am not afraid of her. I want to show this work because the art world needs to see these creations… they are absolutely stunning; we owe it to Elena to show her work.”
“You sure about doing it at opening?”
“Yes… would you be ok with that?” Bette was absorbed again, walking back over to the first piece to crouch down and look at it from another angle, taking Tina with her by the hand.
Tina was surprised that Bette had asked her opinion, art had always been her domain. She waited until Elena and Shane returned, Elena shyly coming to stand next to Bette. Lara and Shane waited by the door, curious about what would happen next.

OK, OKay, back to the chptr….WhooHooo it’s finally time for the Opening but even more so the showdown with Eric in Chicago!!!! Can’t wait to see how Tibette will handle his butt!! Afterall, Tina promised Bette she would come up with a plan

Thank you for Bette’s apology! Really heartfelt. Both learned much about an open communication and still have a few miles to go. Let’s see what idea Tina has for Eric and the situation at the studio. And how Bette will react to it.

Yes, indeed. In my mind there are so many steamy, loving scenes for bathtubs. In reality….not so many. More like flooding of the bathroom, slipping in the tub etc. ;-p
I love the way Bette and Tina describe the old way of settling disagreements to their new way settling disagreements. I particularly like that they describe themselves as “overgrown toddler” and a “childish tantrums”. And the the fact that both were to bent, bound and determined to punish the other without taking into consideration of the facts. And with all that drama, they ended up working longer hours so they didn’t have to be with each other. It’s no wonder they ended up splitting up and seeking comfort and attention somewhere else.
This is how you repair marriages and damaged relationships. You stop demanding. You stop yelling. You stop accusing and condemning. You start to listen and really hear what is being said. You talk in advance of a decision. You share your hopes, dreams, and fears. You praise and compliment your partner. You apologize and take responsibility for your mistakes and misdeeds. You look for compromise and win-win solutions where everyone benefits. You realize that shit happens and do the best you can with the situation. And sometime that shit is no ones fault and no one needs to be blamed or punished for. Life is too short to take significant portions of your life in a disagreement.
I love the art work. I love that Tina knows Bette so well that she knows what her facial expression mean when she is looking at art. She sees her emotions. That is love…..
