Neither Bette nor Tina had expected to experience the bond which seemed to link them at that precise moment.
Yes, they had been intimidate, yes, they had carved up for themselves moments of pure and delightful joy and pleasure, but the kiss which they were now sharing propelled them to a higher plane, breaking boundaries neither had truly ever crossed, shattering this invisible brick wall into a thousand pieces.
Bette’s world turned upside down in that instant, and a feeling she’d never experienced before washed over her like a warm, unstoppable tide.
Not wanting to part, the brunette slid both hands around Tina’s neck, careful to handle the injured woman gently; cradling the fragile head like a mother would with a new born. She truly wanted to never let go.
Tina lips were as soft as Bette knew them to be… . they were like touching velvet or silk or the delicate inside of rose petals.
The brunette took her time savouring this incredible reconnection with the beautiful blonde accountant.
It felt as though she was discovering Tina’s lips for the first time. She searched to the deepest part of her being but knew of nothing which could compare to the feelings coursing through her body at that moment.
Tina closed her eyes, willing away all senses to leave her, but taste and touch, and she lost herself in the exquisite caress of Bette’s warm, sweet mouth. The aching boundaries of her body vanished almost instantly replaced by an overwhelming well being.
The blonde’s eyes rolled back in her head when she felt the slight pressure of the vet’s tongue sliding against the parting of her lips, pleading for entry.
Tina did not need to be asked twice and she eagerly parted her mouth to accept it.
A languid moan slipped past both their throat when soft tips slid towards each other to brush, taste and explore. Both women tightened their hold, relaxing their embrace lightly first, only to resume it, but this time pulling each other closer and stronger, Bette always mindful to not hurt.
The kiss was hot, wet, and passionately insistent.
Patiently, tongues stroked the inside of their mouths, running across teeth and tangling with each other unhurriedly.

I was wondering how long you were going to make us wait for the post-penultimate(?) chapter! But it was worth the wait. Just lovely. You created a wonderful story. Now, not to be piggy or anything, but “29” IS kind of a lopsided number to end on… in case you were thinking of an Epilogue or anything…

Sad to see this end. But yet I know you will have something even more propelling and beautiful up your sleeve. You have this earnest way you write so freely and painstakingly a myriad of beautifully woven word that flow like a river. As are indeed as beautiful as the Savannah you describe. I would be number 24. Although I do not understand completely what you’ve asked of us readers but still my contribution nonetheless.

23. I couldn’t help but think of the number on Tina’s letter. As for this wonderful tale, though I have been remiss in commenting, I have loved every chapter. I just watched a tv special titled “The Secret Language of Elephants” and couldn’t help but think of your Savannah. As I watched the gathering place of some 50 elephants and the woman who has spent two decades saving them, my mind wandered to your vet and her Foundation. Adorable ending with Tina admitting to Bette that she had failed her…as if that were possible! Would love to see an epilogue or random chapters. Thanks for sharing your talent!

It’s a nice surprise to see your posting after several days being away from all this technology called internet :-p and I do welcome your idea of “situations” in the future and absolutely happy to hear about a probabilty of having epilogue after this.
