    Finale

    "I just told you….. it’s not your fault but I really thought, I would never see you again" Bette suddenly said, choking on her words as tears began to sting the back of her eyes and threatened to overwhelm her. 
    Her mouth had whispered directly onto the blonde’s lips.
    A tear spilled over the rim of her eye and  started a precarious path along her already wet cheek. She brushed it away quickly and tried to regain some composure.
    "I need you in my life." Bette continued softly as she moved her head once again to look into Tina’s eyes. "I don’t know what I would have done if….." 
    Bette closed her eyes, shaking her head, unable to finish her sentence. She did not want to think about it.  
    Tina looked at her and swallowed hard. She lifted her uninjured hand to rest it on Bette’s cheek. Her thumb caught a couple more stray tears and wiped them away slowly. She did not say anything, instead she waited silently until Bette finished what she wanted to say.
    "I don’t know why, I have been so afraid to tell you what I have known from the very beginning…" Bette sobbed further.
    With her hand, she took Tina’s away from her cheek and intertwined their fingers tightly. For several seconds, she stared at them and began to relax her hold to start and play with the long tapered digits. Caressing, stroking, circling, tracing, drawing patterns in the palm and back of the pale hand. 
    It was clear that Bette was battling her emotions, organising her thoughts. She took a few slow breath, pulling herself together. She looked straight into the depth of Tina’s shiny eyes, her own still glassy with tears.
    "Tina Kennard," she began, "I love you. I am so in love with you, my heart aches from not being able to tell you. There is no way I have ever known what love was before I met you… You make me whole, everything was wrong before you… You make me feel right…. I love you, I love you so very much."
    A pregnant silence fell between them as soon as Bette finished her profession of love.

    2. No matter how beautifully I write my comment I wont be able to reach your level, but I will try…….. You ARE an exceptionally brilliant writer and your stories take my breath away. Specially the way you describe Tina….. I know that I have told you this before, but I cant help it. You make everything so wonderful, full of love and tender and delicate and sensual….     12. I was wondering how long you were going to make us wait for the post-penultimate(?) chapter! But it was worth the wait. Just lovely. You created a wonderful story. Now, not to be piggy or anything, but “29” IS kind of a lopsided number to end on… in case you were thinking of an Epilogue or anything…

You have this earnest way you write so freely and painstakingly a myriad of beautifully woven word that flow like a river. As are indeed as beautiful as the Savannah you describe. I would be number 24. Although I do not understand completely what you’ve asked of us readers but still my contribution nonetheless.

    19. 23. I couldn’t help but think of the number on Tina’s letter. As for this wonderful tale, though I have been remiss in commenting, I have loved every chapter. I just watched a tv special titled “The Secret Language of Elephants” and couldn’t help but think of your Savannah. As I watched the gathering place of some 50 elephants and the woman who has spent two decades saving them, my mind wandered to your vet and her Foundation. Adorable ending with Tina admitting to Bette that she had failed her…as if that were possible! Would love to see an epilogue or random chapters. Thanks for sharing your talent!

Its a new beginning is such a wonderful start of rain season in Africa, this is the sweetest end of story ever ;DI’m sad that this amazing story end but I hope that you will gift us with new creation of yours soon.
