“Hi… T… listen… are you busy right now? Because I would really like to apologize for my behaviour today” Bette sounded very sincere.
“Bette… it’s fine, don’t worry about it… I just think…”
“TK?” Julia asked interrupting Tina, as she stood up and slowly started to approach the door. As soon as she heard that name escaping from Tina’s lips, she felt compelled to see who was that new character in her friend’s life, who was taking so much of her time.
“Oh sorry… I didn’t know you had company, I’ll go now…” Bette added with apologetic eyes and took a step backwards.
When Tina saw Julia coming towards the door she realized it was too late, she was going to have to do the proper introductions, an idea she wasn’t fully comfortable with for some strange reason.
“No… Bette… it’s fine, I’m with a friend…” Tina said with traces of a sad expression on her face, as she fully opened the door to allow Bette in.
“Please come in” The blonde quickly added.
“Nooo that’s fine… I’ll…” Bette was still trying her best to just get out of there.
“Hi… you must be Bette” Came the voice of a slim brunette who took the spot next to the blonde.
“Yes I am…” Bette replied, trying her best to be friendly but still not stepping foot inside of Tina’s dorm.
“I’m Julia… it’s very nice to finally meet you Bette… Tina has told me so much about you…” The woman replied, also in a very warm and friendly way as she extended her hand for the brunette to shake.
“Ohh… well I hope she has told you only the nice things…” Bette half joked as she took the hand that was being offered to her.
“Julia has been my friend since high school… we practically grew up together” Tina admitted still with that particular sad expression in those hazel eyes, something that did not go unnoticed by Bette.
“Well… I should get going… talk to you in the morning?” Bette, again tried to escape the situation as soon as she got her hand back.
“Oh but Bette… you don’t have to go just because I’m here… why don’t you come in?” Julia invited the taller brunette in a particularly kind way. Of course Bette didn’t immediately become aware of that fact and how awkward the situation was quickly turning for Tina, but she could still tell that something that was showing in the blonde’s face.

And that’s how Bette met another blonde in her life. Waiting for the next!
Okay, things are moving along in 1996…. Tina has introduced Julia and is upset with Bette because some woman threw herself at her. Tina is smitten with Bette but does not want to admit it….
In the current day, Bette is drunk at her own bachelorette party and Tina shows up out of the blue and they can hardly have a conversation…
Seems that no matter what they do, they have trouble talking to each other…..

I like this story and I agree with Martha. They have a huge communications breakdown but I think it’s more so with Tina. She keeps too much to herself and when she does let it go she becomes highly irrational. She was the one that avoided Bette and would not speak or see her. She needs to grow up, get real with her actions and non actions and accept huge responsibility for the demise of the relationship. Why did Shane have to be the one to wake her up?
