Dana: “But Tina was there”

Alice: “yes, she kicked Tonya out of their apartment”

Dana: “why you made Tonya believe Tina was gone?”

Alice: “to catch Tonya, and show you what kind of person she is”

Dana: “why Alice, why you do this?”

Alice: “because she is playing with you, she doesn’t love you”

Dana: “and what do you care…, you know, Alice, I’m sick of this, all of you showing me how good lesbian lovers you are and how clumsy I am…, all these years I couldn’t get a woman…, I knew what type of girl Tonya was, but it was her or nothing, the shame of being alone when all of you have your girlfriends or hot dates…, now you came here to tell me this…, okay, all of you had your fun…”

Dana’s face was red and her eyes were glassy and looking at the floor; Alice was there in front of her with a broken heart, she couldn’t understand her own feelings, all those years they both were friends, pals, some girls were interested in Dana, but for Alice none of them was good enough to date Dana and she convinced the tennis player on let them go…, but now Alice reflected on her own actions, why she did that…? What type of girl, if there is one, would be good for her friend? Why did she feel anxious and angry seeing Tonya with Dana…?

Dana: “please leave me alone…, now”

Alice walked toward the door and left, there was something very wrong, what did she want to accomplish by catching Tonya cheating? Okay, she wanted Dana to break with Tonya…, and then what? Sooner or later another Tonya will enter in Dana’s life, or worse, perhaps a nice girl a good and faithful one, and Dana will be taken; just the idea of thinking Dana may find someone else made her sad and unease. Alice stayed in Maine overnight in a close Motel, thinking and reviewing her own emotions, how close she and Dana were always, how good they feel together, how she misses Dana. That evening the blonde slept hugging her pillow and for a brief moment, she imagined hugging her friend Dana.

Next day, Alice went to the tennis lawn again, she has to talk to Dana, but the coach told her Dana had returned to Boston early that morning; Alice took her belongs and went back to Boston too, couldn’t find Dana in her apartment, she looked for her the whole day; that evening she went to the usual lesbian bar finding Shane.
