Side Effects Chapter 12 – THE MYSTERIOUS SISTER

Anyway, from what Maura heard, Louise is fighting the same war Jane and all of them are, but with her own resources and lots of money, in Maura’s understanding, Louise and her group were working as ‘vigilantes’ and Jane wasn’t going to be happy with that; so, this morning very early, instead of waiting for Bette and listen to her explanations, Maura has decided to go to talk to Louise before Jane wakes up; and here she is walking toward the neighbor house to meet the team of bodyguards.

At the door of the house, Maura was stopped by two guards, who were blocking the entrance; one of them, a brawny and tall woman, recognized her from the wedding party.

Guard 1: “what may I do for you, ma’am?”

Maura: “I need to talk to your boss.”

Guard 1: “I don’t know if she is available, but you can leave a message and I will give it to her, later she will look for you.”

Maura: “I’m sorry, but I can’t leave, tell her that the head of the research branch of Genetics lab wants to have some words with her and I will wait here for her answer.”

Guard 1: “okay, if you want to wait, you can stay, but I can’t warranty anything.”

The guard came back after five minutes she left.

Guard 1: “follow me, please, Dr. Isles…”

Inside the house Maura was conducted to an office where Louise was waiting for her at the door; Tina’s sister wasn’t wearing her disguise and Maura could notice the close resemblance with her new-wed friend; the most relevant difference between sisters was the color of their eyes, Tina’s are hazel and Louise’s blue, and perhaps Tina is around half inch taller, but the older sister though thinner was physically stronger.

Louise: “over here Dr. Isles, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

    Maura: “the pleasure is mine.”

Louise: “please sit down…, would you like a cup of coffee, I’m going to get one.”

Maura: “I’ll prefer tea if you have it.”

Louise: “of course…, now…, I see that you have recognized me and I know you want to talk to me; but before, I want to ask you a favor…, don’t tell my sister about me, please.”

      • Hi SG:

Thanks, I was going to bring this story back anyway, and I wanted it to be soon, well it wasn’t that soon, but I’m retaking the plot.
I know what you think, and I’m not going to make any promise (I don’t like words but facts) but you may read the next chapter pretty soon.
        Thanks, for your good wishes.
