“Okay, I’ll see you tonight, then.”

            “See you then. Oh, and good luck with Al. She’s a crazy emotional one.”

            “Ha, yeah. Thanks for the encouragement.” I joked, and hung up. I set the phone back in the charger one last time and left the apartment, trying to figure out what I was going to say to Alice.

Alice’s POV:

            I flew around the corner in my cluttered living room, hooking my belt as I heard the buzz from the intercom downstairs. I’d spent the past hour and a half looking through all my clothes, only to decide that I had nothing to wear. So now my apartment looked like King Kong and fucking Jack Sparrow got into a fight.

            I slid across the floor, past the mirror in the hall, and slammed into the wall painfully. I brushed the hair out of my eyes as I pressed the button on the wall.

            “Hello?”

            “Hey, it’s Shane.” Said a static voice. “Are you ready?”

            “Fuck.” I muttered. “Yeah, be right down!” I threw on the first pair of shoes I could find and shoved my cell phone in my pocket as I hauled ass down to Shane’s waiting car.

            “You weren’t anywhere near ready, were you?” She smirked as I got into the car.

            “Can you tell?” I whined.

            She laughed and started driving. “You look great, Al. Come on, we’re already gonna be late, and I kinda want to see this Ivan.”

            “Oh, so you’re not just going for the girls and free booze, huh?”

            “Haha!” She laughed sarcastically. “No. Hey, speaking of girls, I was thinking about what we talked about earlier. The whole ‘friends to lovers’ thing. I don’t think it’s such a good idea after all.” My face melted into an expression of confusion. “I mean, what if it does screw things up in our group? Normally I’d just say fuck it, go with your gut, but this is a delicate situation. It’s not just one persons feelings at risk here.”

            “So, you don’t think that I should…” I looked over at her dejectedly, wondering why she had changed her mind.

            “No, I don’t. I’m sorry, Al. I mean, maybe if things were different, like if Dana wasn’t involved it’d be easier for you to talk about it or something, but… I don’t know. What ever happened to you liking Dana, anyways? I thought you were head over heels for her.”
