    “Because Melvin gave you the trust papers “

     

     

    “What ? “ Bette said looking at Tina

     

     

    “Melvin didn’t give you the trust papers ?”

     

     

    “I haven’t seen my father in about 3 years “

     

     

    “Why ?”

     

     

    “Even though its got nothing to do with you I will tell you – he doesn’t approve of my sexuality “

     

     

    “You haven’t introduced him to Tina ?”

     

     

    “Look – we are getting ahead of ourselves – I would like you to prove that you are who you say you are “ Tina

    Bette’s mother opened her bag and took out a white envelope – she handed it to Bette. Tina looked across – the envelope contained a photocopy of Bette’s birth certificate, there were photographs of Bette as a baby and for the first ten years of her life. Bette’s mother handed her driving licence to Tina – the name read

    “God “ Tina said causing Bette to look to see what Tina was looking at.

     

     

    “I understand that you don’t know me from Adam Bette and Tina but I am ready to do whatever it takes to prove who I am to you. If you say the word I will drive us to a clinic and we can have our blood samples compared “

     

     

    “Why do you have these photographs – you walked out when I was 4 “

     

     

    “Melvin sent me pictures of you “

     

     

    “My father “ Bette almost exploded -Tina touched her partners back again – stroking it gently

     

     

    “He has bad mouthed you for as long as I can remember “

     

     

    “He always liked to keep his options open “ Elizabeth said

     

     

    “Okay – you are Elizabeth Porter – so what were you talking about when you mentioned the trust papers “ Tina challenged

    6. I know Bette is pisssed, well probably more than pissed at her mom but I think she should at least listen to what she has to say. If Melvin has been untruthful to her all these years what makes her think he will tell her everything now? I don’t think her mom is trying to buy her affection how could she after 27 years. Speak to her mom and see what she has to say about why she left without her all those years ago and then talk to her dad and see if any of the story matches. Most mothers will not leave thier children unless something horribl ecauses them to. I hope Bette gets all her answers she deserves it and I’m glad Tina is right there by her side. PPS

    7. Nice twist girl. I think that Bette should talk to her mother to see exactly what she has to say. She has listen to Melvin all of her life and this way she will be comming from a position of strength and knowledge when she speaks to Melvin. At least her mother is adcepting of her and Tina as a couple. PPS:o).
