“Oh God Tina this is just so insane “
Tina shook her head “I would love to know why she picked here and now to turn up “
“I have no idea “
Bette kissed Tina again and rested her forehead against hers. Tina ran her fingers through Bette’s curls – she teased some of her hair and kissed her lover
“How do you feel ?”
“My stomach is churning “
“So was mine “
“I was tongue tied – thank you for being there and for defending me “
“I was just asking the questions that came into my head. “
Bette looked at Tina
“She looked like you “ Tina said
Bette nodded “I was thinking that – she was pretty “
“She was – her eyes and face was very like you “
“So do you think that she is my mother ?”
“I thought she looked a lot like you “ Tina agreed
“Shit Tina – this has just knocked me sideways “
“We will work our way through it – together eh ?”
Bette nodded “Thank you “
“What are you going to do ?”
“At the moment I want a drink “
“I don’t see why not – what do you want ?”
“Scotch “
“Wait there “
Tina kissed Bette again before going into the house and pouring two drinks. Alone Bette dried her eyes and tried to organise her thoughts. When Tina returned they sat together in silence for several minutes
“I think I am going to have to see my father “ Bette said letting out a deep breath of air
“You deserve some answers “ Tina said “Whichever of them give you them is irrelevant “
“If what she says is true – he’s been as guilty of lying to me as she was “
“The business about your college fund is suspect “

I know Bette is pisssed, well probably more than pissed at her mom but I think she should at least listen to what she has to say. If Melvin has been untruthful to her all these years what makes her think he will tell her everything now? I don’t think her mom is trying to buy her affection how could she after 27 years. Speak to her mom and see what she has to say about why she left without her all those years ago and then talk to her dad and see if any of the story matches. Most mothers will not leave thier children unless something horribl ecauses them to. I hope Bette gets all her answers she deserves it and I’m glad Tina is right there by her side. PPS
Nice twist girl. I think that Bette should talk to her mother to see exactly what she has to say. She has listen to Melvin all of her life and this way she will be comming from a position of strength and knowledge when she speaks to Melvin. At least her mother is adcepting of her and Tina as a couple. PPS:o).
I would like to hear the reason Bette’s mother for abandoning her. Must be big if she schose to stayed away all those years. Is she sick? :D And the trust fund ha….curious…LOL
