Tina: I don’t know. I have never done a collaboration before. It is certainly a different concept from what I was under the impression I was here for.
Bette: Well, I’m sure the Bidens do not realize this, but a collaboration effort particularly a new one carries several hurtles we both will have to address. I am sure you are under contract with a publisher as am I to use our publisher exclusively for all work we produce?
Tina: I hadn’t thought about that. A collaboration may even be a violation of my contract. I think if this becomes a possibility, then I am going to have to contact my lawyer for some advice. I am going to want to know where I stand before I engage in any discussion with my publisher.
Bette: And I would have to do the same. However, I do find the concept of doing a collaboration with you interesting. How do you feel about it?
Tina: I am absolutely intrigued with the idea. I love your work and your style. And I believe that working with you could improve my writing. It certainly would expand my experience. I just hope that I am a worthy collaborator.
Bette: Well, you certainly have the credentials and the experience for this type of book. It would be a matter of the two of us developing a process and path to make this happen. We may have to do a little more traveling than we are accustomed to. That is, if we can get over our legal hurtles on the front end.
Tina: I will call my attorney in the morning and ask him to review my contract and look into what can be arranged for a collaboration with a well-known author who is under a different publishing house.
Bette: I will do the same.
Tina: Bette, I did not like the way President Biden looked this evening. He looked like he is having some problems with his health. And they look rather serious.
Bette: I noticed that too. I noticed that Mark and Jill were watching him closely. They seemed rather concerned.
Tina: So, are you an early riser?
Bette: Not usually, however with the time change and the travel today, and provided I go to bed and actually sleep, I may get up early tomorrow.

Well, what a story, I really enjoyed it.
I love how they meet, their time at Camp David and the natural progression they took together.
Try really are perfect for each other and your story certainly reflects that.
I still can’t bear to think of them not being together!

First of all this story is an alternative time and life for our Bette and Tina. The story is being told by a woman who is older (85 years old) and has experienced a full and joyful life with the woman she loved. They have had more than 40 years together even though they didn’t meet until they were middled aged. I like that they took the time to get to know one another for a few days before charging into a romantic relationship. I like that Bette insist that Tina think about her own life and if she is prepared for the changes which will occur as they start to see each other romantically. Bette wants Tina to make her decision about her life knowing the possible downside. For me, that shows immediately how much Bette respects and cares for Tina right out of starting gates. I also like that Bette insist they talk about things fully as they go. She seeks out Tina’s boundaries and comfort level before they do anything. This is why their relationship is so strong…. they hide nothing from each other.
From the idea to publication, I took 4 days… I enjoyed writing this story because I could see that both Bette and Tina would go from a mundane life to a life of love and devotion within a matter of weeks. And it would result in a lifetime of happiness. Isn’t that what we all want in our lives?

OneStorm1 – Thank you for reading… I published this a little more than a year ago and I posted it this year on Achieve of Our Own. I do have three long book stories which is a single series and one other one shot which is about the same length as this one. I then not to writer about angst and problems between Bette and Tina. I think there are plenty of authors who present those kind of stories. All my published stories are on this website.
