“I hope it will be and it’s more than a favor that I need. I don’t want to get into it here though. We’ll talk tomorrow. OK?”
“OK. Sure.” It wasn’t like Marcus to be so evasive but Bette respected that this wasn’t the right setting for their talk. Before she had time to ponder any longer he changed the subject. Looking over her shoulder he asked “So is that your partner over there? She’s gorgeous.”
Bette knew that Marcus had to be talking about Tina without turning around.
“Tina? No she’s a friend. I’m not with anyone right now. Come on I’ll introduce you.”
Bette and Marcus walk hand in hand back over to the group. Tina glanced their way and couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance. She knew Bette only had a sister and no cousins but this guy could easily be taken for a relative. Whatever the relationship it was obvious that they were close.
“Hey guys look who decided to crash the party.”
“Marcus Allenwood … where have you been hiding yourself?”
“Not hiding. I am preparing for a group show and it’s kept me very busy. It’s good to see you Max.” Marcus and Max shake hands and embrace briefly then Max introduces his life-partner Tom Mater.
“Tom nice to meet you.”
“Likewise.” Marcus shook hands with Tom then turned to Dylan for a hug. He also knows Frank so the two shake hands in a warm greeting. Dylan addresses Marcus.
“Hey handsome. So what’s this about a group show? Are you taking off again?”
“Yes in about four months. I’ll be gone for two years this time.”
“I read about the Whitney Biennial congratulations.”
“Thank you Frank. We’ll catch up later.” Marcus says to his old friends as Bette pulls him away to meet new ones.
“Marcus I don’t think you’ve met Winnie Mann she’s the head of the Peabody-Mann Theatre Company and this is Alicia Redding. Ladies this is my good friend Marcus Allenwood, renowned artist extraordinaire.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you both.” Marcus says bashfully giving Bette the eye. She knows he doesn’t like to be the center of attention but that doesn’t stop the teasing. They finally get to Tina ending the introductions. By now Nikolas had left the room to find Peggy.

Alright!…Your author’s note cleared that up!..I’m all for twists and turns!..Love how you threw the conversation about the donor disagreement from Season 1 in here…Tina needs to want a monogamous relationship first so she and Bette will be on the same page to pursue a relationship..Nice chapter and loved the interaction with TiBette..Now they can get to know each other a little better in the next chapter!
Great update. Oh wow, they had THE conversation and didn’t get hurt over it. At least that will be out of the way if something does happen and they do get together and make those life altering decisions regarding having a family. Happy they are having a great time together enjoying their time together and learning more about each other. This is a very interesting story. Thanks for posting.

It`s going a bit slow but I like this sweet and genuine Bette so I`m going to keept at it a little bit longer:)
Really pleased to have some 1 to 1 time with Bette and Tina and very nice how the Donor conversations were introduced., far better than the confrontational way in the Show.
Glad they are together in the loft and look forward to your next post.
It was a very good chapter, and I’m glad that they’re getting to know each other better. and the easy-going conversation between them.
Well it seems the time is the key to this story, Bette and Tina are not emotionally in the same place. and then soon they live in two different part.
I’ will waiting ;) It will also be good to read how their lives turn out.

Interesting to see their views on marriage and children. They have to be on the same page before they can go forward in a romantic fashion. But I am a huge TiBetter, so I want them to realize their fates sooner rather than too late. Excellent chapter!
I quite agree with everyone here how the donor story was introduced. Unlike in the show, I love the softer side of Bette in this story, not sure when Jodies attack on her will resurface? Lets hope Tina and her connect will she is staying at Bette’s loft.
Yes! I know that bette would have nothing with Dylan or Winnie.
Through their conversations talking about how each has its vision of life, and even disagreeing with certain matters, they already give beginning to the future have a solid relationship. I loved this chapter.
