The gathering of friends
“Sorry to keep you waiting Peggy wanted to talk to me about something.”
“It’s fine. Is everything OK?”
“Yes I think so. Are you ready to experience some New York nightlife?”
“Yeah but I think I’d like to stop at the hotel and change first if that’s OK.”
“No that’s fine. I was going to suggest it. I want to change too.”
“What are you wearing?”
“I think jeans. Why don’t I have David drop you off first and then we’ll be back to pick you up in about 30 minutes.”
“Sounds good.”

About an hour later Bette and Tina meet up with Max, Tom, Dylan and Frank at one of the trendy night clubs in lower Manhattan. They find a table and Frank gets the first round of drinks. They barely get seated before both Bette and Tina get asked to dance by two strikingly handsome men. It was obvious they were on the prowl. Bette and Tina both declined politely. When the men didn’t seem to want to take no for an answer Max and Tom took it as their cue and stood up. “Sorry guys. They are with us. Come on Tina let’s dance.” Max took Tina by the hand. At the same time Tom pulled Bette closer to him. “Yeah guys sorry. Bette I think you promised me the first dance.”
Bette, Tina, Max and Tom hit the dance floor and are soon followed by Dylan and Frank. After a while they are dancing as a group and switching partners. Everyone is having a really good time and they just let loose. The club was a mix of gay and straight couples and when a slow song came on Max and Dylan naturally gravitated to their partners leaving Bette and Tina alone. Tina took the lead and asked Bette to dance. It felt so natural to hold each other and they fit so perfectly together. They dance three slow songs in a row before they walk back to the bar to get drinks and cool off.
“Bette you’re a really good dancer.”
“Thanks Tina. So are you. Are you enjoying yourself?”
“Yeah it’s a great club. I really like your friends. I didn’t know Max that well before today.”
“Yeah. I don’t see them too often these days but Peggy introduced me to Dylan and Max a few years ago. We would hang out sometimes when I visited New York. Dylan wasn’t married then and Max was also single so we would just go out and have fun. I guess we’re all at a point now that we want to settle down. They’re both lucky to have found their life-partners. Tom and Frank are really great guys. I’m very happy for them.”

Alright!…Your author’s note cleared that up!..I’m all for twists and turns!..Love how you threw the conversation about the donor disagreement from Season 1 in here…Tina needs to want a monogamous relationship first so she and Bette will be on the same page to pursue a relationship..Nice chapter and loved the interaction with TiBette..Now they can get to know each other a little better in the next chapter!
Great update. Oh wow, they had THE conversation and didn’t get hurt over it. At least that will be out of the way if something does happen and they do get together and make those life altering decisions regarding having a family. Happy they are having a great time together enjoying their time together and learning more about each other. This is a very interesting story. Thanks for posting.
Thnx for the update! Uhm, I`m assuming that at some point in their relationship, Jodies abuse must be adressed.
It`s going a bit slow but I like this sweet and genuine Bette so I`m going to keept at it a little bit longer:)
Really pleased to have some 1 to 1 time with Bette and Tina and very nice how the Donor conversations were introduced., far better than the confrontational way in the Show.
Glad they are together in the loft and look forward to your next post.
It was a very good chapter, and I’m glad that they’re getting to know each other better. and the easy-going conversation between them.
Well it seems the time is the key to this story, Bette and Tina are not emotionally in the same place. and then soon they live in two different part.
I’ will waiting ;) It will also be good to read how their lives turn out.
Thanks for the update. Enjoyed it
Interesting to see their views on marriage and children. They have to be on the same page before they can go forward in a romantic fashion. But I am a huge TiBetter, so I want them to realize their fates sooner rather than too late. Excellent chapter!
I quite agree with everyone here how the donor story was introduced. Unlike in the show, I love the softer side of Bette in this story, not sure when Jodies attack on her will resurface? Lets hope Tina and her connect will she is staying at Bette’s loft.
Yes! I know that bette would have nothing with Dylan or Winnie.
Through their conversations talking about how each has its vision of life, and even disagreeing with certain matters, they already give beginning to the future have a solid relationship. I loved this chapter.
10 stars.
