“Really? That’s fantastic.”
“Yeah, they’re saving their money for the baby instead. She’s just starting to show and she is glowing. She looks stunning. And he is the perfect doting husband. They send their love. By the way, she wanted to sell your car and buy a mini-van.”
“What?” Bette shouts at Tina with a look of sheer horror.
“I know, right? I couldn’t believe it myself. Did you NOT tell her what a ‘classic’ it was?” Tina asks with a straight face, using her fingers to quote. Bette can’t help but chuckle.
“Don’t worry. I bought it from her and gave it to Shane. She tells me it’s a total chick magnet. She’s actually glad you never painted it. She loves the rustic look. I gave Stephanie my car.” Tina grins.
“Your car? The same car we couldn’t eat, drink or have sex in because of the plush leather interior and new car smell?”
“Yes.” Tina blushes. She kicks herself for the missed opportunities.
“I did have the interior reinforced. It can now withstand any bodily fluid a growing baby can dish out. I also added a car seat as an early baby shower gift from the both of us.” Tina smiles. Bette nods her head in gratitude.
“One more.” Tina hesitates for a few seconds then walks to her bag and pulls out a large yellow envelope.
“The sign people wanted to know what design you wanted to go with. I cancelled the order but got them to mail me what they had. Bette, I’m so sorry.”
Tina hands over the envelope. She bites her bottom lip as her heart tugs in her chest and her eyes fill with tears. “I would have gone with the first one. Thank you Bette. It means so much to me and I am so proud of you. It would have been wonderful. I never had anything named after me.” Tina gushes.
She wishes she could throw herself at her girlfriend and never let go. Bette is studying the design and specs with an expert eye.
“Yeah, definitely the first one.” Bette is about to throw the papers into the fire but Tina screams.
“No! If you don’t want them, I will take them.” Tina demands.
“Tina. It’s never going to happen now. They’re useless.”

Enjoying the story very much. Bette knows she wants Tina as badly as Tina wants her. She also knows she is going to give in and listen to what Tina wants to say to her. Can’t blame her for being stubborn but she needs to make Tina grovel a bit, Tina was very wrong to jump to conclusions and listening to helen is always a problem. Hopefully she has learned her lesson with helena. Oh please let Bette tear her a new one when they go back to New York, if and when they do. Meanwhile lots of loving to make up for all the problems. Thanks for posting.
