“She always was and you always let her make toast of you – she was bad news for you “
“I know that – I have a little more at stake now though don’t I – then it was just my heart that got broken – this is my Presidency “
“You think she would admit that the two of you had an affair ?”
“That’s all she’s got “
“And how does the other Mrs Kennard Porter feel about her ?”
“She knows that I wouldn’t do anything to risk what we have and that means a lot – that she trusts me. “
“I would expect nothing else- what worries me is that does Holly have the same power over you that she did all those life times ago ?”
“I would like to think that I have slightly more self confidence “ I say dryly. Ella yawns and closes her eyes finally. Lets hope that is her down for the night “Goodnight honey “
I kiss her and take a step away from her bed.
“She asleep ?”
“Not yet – she’ll be okay – I will tell her nanny that she’s settled”
“And will you be stepping out to this event wearing a white robe that has a coffee stain on the pocket ?”
“I thought I might start a new trend “ I reply
“You know what you are wearing ?”
“Alice – when you are me you know what you are wearing to events three months down the line. Yes – I have my dress, shoes and bag ready – I just lack the time to go and put them on.”

Thanks for the update – really appreciate it. Have a great vacation and enjoy your self totally – don’t even think about writing. But when you return to the Lwing please please please have Bette show this woman the door fast.
I can’t wait to see what happens when Holly arrives. Even with all the protection Bette has I’m concerned that she will somehow get to Bette. I just hope Bette is prepared to put her in her place…
