    The Most Distant Course 2

    “I don’t know…I don’t think she’s as normal as we thought.”

“Can anyone tell me what the answer to this question?”

Mr. Haspel’s voice finally pass to the back of the classroom, Bette looks at the board, it’s a complicated equation that she’s never seen before. It’s quite normal, the handsome math teacher will always supplement some difficult math formula just to make the boring math class more challenging, but none of the students gain any interest in it.

“Really? None of you know basic calculus? Miss. Porter?”

Bette gulps when she hears the teacher calling her name, this situation is also usual since she’s the smartest student in Wallace High, teachers love to call her in class just to indicate how proud they are for having this student in their class.

Shit. Bette thinks, she never thought they will use calculus in high school.

Ever since this Tina Kennard appeared, her concentration is always attracted to the particular blonde.

    “Miss. Porter?”

    “Um…I don’t know, sir.”

Every student turns their head, full of surprises. That’s new. They all suspect is something wrong with Bette Porter today, generally, Bette knows everything.

    “Very well, Miss. Tina Kennard?”

Now each student even “The Golden Circle”, turns their head further, to the farthest position, where the new blonde sits in. They all wearing a smirk on their face, how can a dirty country girl know more than Bette Porter, the great brain of “The Golden Circle”? Tina seems completely unconscious for her classmates who eagerly want to see her be mocked in front of everyone.

    “Yes, sir?”

“Can you explain what basic calculus is?”

“A simple ‘I don’t know’ will be enough.” Adele sneers, all other members laugh.

But Tina only nods to the teacher.

“It’s a combination of Differentiation and Integration.” She says, all the students’ mouth wide open.

“And what is the difference between these two?”

“Like the difference between “squaring” and “taking the square root, with the different algorithm and use.” Tina says without any hesitation.

    “Correct answer, well done, Tina.”

Tina doesn’t seem excited about Mr. Haspel’s compliment. After she answers the question, she buries her head concentrate on her own business. Totally ignore the shocking expression the students give her.

If “The Golden Circle” wants something, they get what they wish for; if they want someone to disappear in this school, normally no one dares to show up next day, but this time, this time is a total humiliation.

    1. Take all the time you need, this story is amazing.

Tina is a very brave woman to speak to the Golden Circle like that. Applause for her.

It does make me wonder what she endured in her life so far. She is strong.

      Thanks for the update.

    2. Thanks for this part!

Tina very brave and Bette seems don’t have guts and own opinion for now, but maybe in the future she can change.

Ok, waiting for the next and of course post when you can, we not rushing you

    3. P.S. I forgot to tell you about something – when you add new chapter to the story you can choose option – “write a book”, not just “add single story”.

    4. Hey CJ:

You just made my day. That was pretty good, I’ll rather say excellent; I like it very much, confrontation in all sense is good for my point of view.

I think Bette found her match, both smart girls, both bold; maybe Tina could rescue Bette from that ‘vicious circle’ of bullies, maybe Bette may rescue Tina from her loneliness and that shadow of sadness in her inner world.

This story is getting better each time. Thank you so much for the update. I would like longer chapters but is okay whatever you can give us. Waiting eagerly for the next chapter.

      • I’m really glad my story can make somebody happy, it’s also made my day when I saw all the comments! Really brought me lots of confidence.

Exactly, they both have something the other doesn’t have, I like the saying “The more you know about your enemy, the more you love them.” Thank you for your comment, gives me strength to keep writing,
