    The Most Distant Course

“You are fucking crazy…you are mad…” The detective shakes her head.

Tina wipes off the left tears on Bette’s face.

“The path might not be smooth and peaceful, I know, I know we…you’ve been through a lot, and it’s my fault that caused you so much pain and trouble, letting you wait for me for so long…For that,  I’m sincere…and terribly sorry.”

“But for now, Bette, we are free, thanks to you, all those waiting and patiently, helping me to take down the most sinister person in this country. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have enough courage and confidence to do so…”

“We help each other, T if it wasn’t you, I would still be with that crazy Candace Jewell.”

    Tina smiles.

”A bright future is waiting for us, baby, and since Faye Buckley is in prison, there is nothing I need to be worried about, the Cooper case is finally closed, officially.”

“Are you sure there is no more card need to be taken down?” Bette teases.

“Hmm…It’s hard to say.” Tina smirks.

    They kiss.

Again, it’s not a passionate kiss, but so powerful, carrying so much love and concern.

“Hey, T…” Bette whispers in Tina’s ear, making the blood shiver.

“Do you want to know what happened to Faye Buckley and Aaron? Since you’ve been sleeping, these two have been on every news’ front page for a while.”

“No,” Tina reassures. “I don’t want to waste time talking about them, I just woke up, there are more things that we can talk about.”

    Bette smiles. That’s my girl.

“But we are going to talk about it anyway, right?”

“Yes, of course, but not now,” Tina says. “Besides, I could actually guess what will happen to them.”

    “Is that so?”

“Yes, Helena was very determined when it comes to her job.”

“Oh, T, we are definitely talking about this Helena after you are better.”

    “What? What about her?”

“Oh, Tasha told me everything, she said that girl has something on you…”

    “Whoa…did not.”

    “Did too!”

    “Bette? You’ve never met her.”

“So what? I trust my friend.”

    “Uh-huh, that’s right.”

    “Come on, T…”

    “Shut up and kiss me.”

Bette rolls her eyes and leans her body close to her fiance again, but instead of kissing Tina’s soft lips, she stops at inches away, she smirks.

“If I gave you the kiss will you tell me?”

    “Tell you what?”

“Everything I want to know, your plans…your secret…”

“Sure I will…” Tina shakes her head. “In fact…there will be no more secret between us…not anymore…”

Two women kiss and lean their forehead on each other.

“I think you dropped something.” Bette says with a smirk.

The detective takes something out from her chest, it’s the engagement ring Tina left in her house before she went to the FBI, she has kept it all the time wherever she goes.

Putting the ring back to her lover’s ring finger, Tina grabs Bette’s neck, pulling her closer to another passionate kiss.

None of them want to leave the other, in fact, they don’t need to go through that anymore.

Both of them knew, if there were one day they would be separated, the fate will continue bringing them back because they are meant to be together, the love of their life.

Even if they fall, they will fall together.

I swear to God, I can see

    Four kids and no sleep

We’ll have one on each knee, you and me, hmm

    And when they’ve grown up

You’re still the girl in the club

When I held your hair up, ’cause you had too much

And I need you to know that we’re fallin’ so fast

We’re fallin’ like the stars, fallin’ in love

And I’m not scared to say those words with you, I’m safe

We’re fallin’ like the stars, we’re fallin’ in love

I swear to God, every day

    He won’t take you away

’Cause without you, babe, I lose my way

    Oh, I’m in love

    Oh, I’m in love

    Oh, I’m in love

    Oh, I’m in love

    Oh, I’m in love

Oh, I’m in love (fallin’ like the stars)

And I need you to know that we’re fallin’ so fast

We’re fallin’ like the stars, fallin’ in love

And I’m not scared to say those words with you, I’m safe

We’re fallin’ like the stars, we’re fallin’ in love

James Arthur – Falling Like The Stars

    1. Hi CJ,

      What a incredible good chapter!

At first i thought you skipped the part about Tina’s life in danger and moved fast forward to their future. And oh what a beautiful dream Tina had when she was fighting for her life. That is certainly a part i want to read more about! The interaction and pouting between Bette & Tina and Noah warmed my heart and made me laugh!

It was a well calculated risk Tina took, but at the end she is the absolute winner!!!

I hope to read what happened with Faye Buckley and Aaron Kornblunth and of course what happened with Candace.

I am a little sad that there will be only three chapters more on this incredible story!

Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent as writer and this story!

    2. Hi CJ:

Great chapter, that was very sweet, like Bibi, I thought that you skipped a whole chapter but then I realized about the wonderful dream of Tina.

Yes, it was hard but Tima made it, now we want to learn what happened with the evil people what about Buckley, Aaron, Candace.

I would like to see how the legal situation of Tina will be fixed.

And of course the happy ending.

      Wonderful story, my friend.

      Thanks and pps.

    3. Love it…after three weeks some of Tina’s superficial wounds and bruises should have healed. The deep wounds and the broken bones probably will take a lot longer. And considering her fragile health, its a wonder she survived at all. Bette needs to heal also. Can’t wait to hear about Faye Buckley, Aaron Kornbluth, and Candace Newell. Oh and what really happened to Shane? Did Max really kill her? Surely not! Is Tina now really in the clear – free to live her life as a normal person? What will happen to Bette and her job? Maybe she will leave law enforcement and do something else? I really hope the Cooper Family chapter is now truly closed.

This is a good story….I want Tina and Bette to make a home and life together. Thankyou for the update.

    4. Great Chapter!

You had me a bit at sea to start with but glad I persevered!

Mixed feelings about the story ending but really looking forward to your next post.

You are a talented storyteller, thanks for posting.
