In the hours since he’d spoken to Bette earlier that day Trevor had already dispatched one investigator to visit the Los Angeles lab and another to fly to Canada to pick up the trail. Both were armed with the composite and they would speak to everyone that came in contact with the messenger to make a positive ID.
Trevor had a person on his cyber team tracking Eric’s whereabouts for the past 72 hours. If he was online for any reason they would be able to find out what sites he visited, who he called, or texted, when he used a credit card, who he emailed etc. Using the approximate timelines of when the thefts occurred they were focusing on reservations made with commercial airlines between California and Canada and car rental companies where the driver specifically selected a white van. If Eric was in Los Angeles when the theft occurred then he had to have flown to Canada afterwards. There were just a handful of flights departing at that time of the evening that arrived into Canada after midnight but it wasn’t for certain that he’d flown directly from Los Angeles into Vancouver. He could have used alternate airports so they widened the search.
It was easy enough to get a passenger manifest from all the airlines but it was very likely that Eric was traveling under an assumed name. He’d be required to have a passport to enter Canada and a valid driver’s license and credit card to rent a car. If he traveled with forged Federal or state issued documents he could be prosecuted for the federal offense in addition to grand theft and crossing international borders in the commission of a crime. “What the hell was he thinking?” Tina exclaimed while powering down the tablet making the image disappear off the screen. She grabbed her purse and made sure she had her room key as they got ready to leave.

Thirty minutes later Bette and Tina entered the ballroom where the reception was being held and immediately caught everyone’s attention. Not only did they have the ‘glow’ having made out like horny teenagers in the back seat of the limo but they were undoubtedly one the most beautiful couples in the room even by Hollywood standards. Unlike in previous weeks Tina’s demeanor that evening embodied happiness as she cheerfully interacted with her friends and the film crew and proudly introduced her life partner Bette Porter. All the rumors that had been going around insinuating that Bette and Tina were having problems in their relationship were squashed as they were spotted several times during the evening kissing and cuddling, holding hands or hugging each other.
