    Bette and Tina Go Take a Break from the Drama.

     

    After the initial relief of knowing that her mother really did love her and care about her settled in, Bettes internal alarm sounded and the walls shed created to protect herself from hurt began to move back into place and guard her heart. She slowly moved away from her mother and they shared a few strained words before Bette ended the discomfort of this most irresolute situation by excusing herself and heading back upstairs to the guest room.

     

    When she entered, Tina was fully dressed and sitting down on the side of the bed shed freshly made, trying to figure out what to do to keep herself entertained. Shed wanted to stay in the room to keep out of the way of the reconciliation shed heard earlier and was deciding between listening to her I-Pod and playing solitaire when she heard the door ***** turn and saw her girlfriend reappear.

     

    Tina smiled gently, unsure of how the discussion had gone, and decided to wait on Bettes emotional state and proceed from there. Her amber orbs eyed her girlfriend warily and before she could fully evaluate her lovers inscrutable demeanor, Bette had moved across the room and snuggled herself tightly against Tinas abdomen. Resting on her bended knees, shed wrapped her arms around her girlfriends midsection, and nestled her head against her lovers stomach and *****, holding on as tight as she could.

     

    These two young women were remarkably in tune with each others emotions. It was almost as though there was a string running from the heart of one to the other. And that meant that Bettes pain was also Tinas pain. The sun-kissed blonde didnt know what had transpired between the woman in her arms and the stranger that had showed up the night before. What she did know was that her heart was now aching and the pain she now felt was laced with anger toward the woman she knew to be the source of this sorrow.

     

    With her brow furrowed in agitation for the New Yorker on the first floor, Tina leaned into her soul mates embrace and lovingly rubbed Bettes back, resting her right cheek against a head of soft, dark curls. You okay?, she whispered, her temperament mirroring the fierce protectiveness of a mother cub.

    7. MTS, it’s official!! I am obsessed with this story. I typically print this story out and read it at work (damn internet security at work will not let me access this site). So this morning, I was all excited to see another post from you. I printed out the story, got distracted, and forgot it!!! Ugggghhhhh!!! I was cussing myself all day, and couldn’t wait to get home and read this chapter. As always, it was well worth the wait and anticipation. You are amazing!!

      Bette sounded like a loser in high school, hehehe but i can understand her, i went through the same thing in mid school..

    20. I hope Grandma, Aunty, or dad didn’t happen to see the little lover’s kiss. Just went to my first Pride this past Saturday. We had a festival after and the feeling of freedom permeated the day. Couples holding hands, dancing, and kissing marked the wonderful event. Thanks for your story MTS!!!

      I just speak from the heart. Your story is just magnificent. I marvel at this masterpiece every time you add a chapter. The characters live and breathe in this realistic and believable universe you have created. The feeling and emotions are tangible as every twist and turn pulls Bette and Tina apart before tenderly re-uniting them. New characters have joined as if they have always been integral to the saga and provided much pleasure, excitement and distress. In a lesser writer’s hands, this could have been ham-fisted however in your capable and talented hands in has been seamless.
      I adore this break away from the despair and drama of Bette’s family and her anguished relationship with her mother. Tina is there; a constant force to care, share and protect her lover.
      Can’t wait for your next installment as will spent the rest of the day with a big grin and a happy song in my head.

    28. Great chapter as all your chapters are. I like how Tina didn’t let Bette off the hook but kept at her to get the whole story which is one that is so true. I puts in prespective the way that Bette approached fitting in and how she came to the decision to be herself. Thanks so much for the charming B&T
