The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 5

Her nose didn’t bleed, but her eyelids were very heavy. “I have to sleep,” she said softly.
“Rest. I’ll be right here. I promise not to leave you alone,” said Dana.
Bette cuddled up to her and was soon fast asleep. The sleep was peaceful and dreamless. Dana watched her and gently stroked her friend’s hair, kissing her forehead. It was weird being real and not real at the same time. She was imbued with the same love and compassion for Bette as she’d had during her life as Dana. And yet she knew that her existence could never be permanent. She would have to leave Bette one day. She would fade away, leaving only a memory in Bette’s mind. The longer she existed, the more feelings she was capable of experiencing. She now felt joy and happiness and sadness. She felt longing. And she had begun to miss Alice. And Sidney.
But for now, she’d be Bette’s support system. And she’d help her get close to Tina. She’d do as much as she possibly could. Before the power of the universe and laws of temporal space collapsed upon her, blotting her out of existence.
Bette slept for three hours and when she awoke, she was crying. Dana was awake beside her, flipping through television channels. “I’m so sorry, Dana,” she whispered.
Dana put down the remote and looked at her friend. “You didn’t give me cancer, Bette.”
Bette sniffled. “No. But you suffered so much. You were so sick. You’ve always been this beautiful, sweet person. You didn’t deserve to suffer like that.”
“Bette, everyone dies. And everything happens for a reason. It was painful and I was scared. But you and the girls were there for me. I never felt alone. I never felt unloved. It sucked and I suffered, but you guys…you made it bearable.”
Bette sat up, wiping at her cheeks. “Fuck, Dana. This reality is a bitch. I’m so glad I get to spend time with you now.”
Dana smiled. “Me too.”
“Do you remember when you died? Do you remember what it was like?” asked Bette.
Dana shook her head. “No. I don’t really have those kinds of memories. I have your memories. I have your perspective. I’m Dana, but not really Dana.”

Now, I’m hooked into this story….Bette has yet to realize that getting Tina back is going to take more than a few phone calls. They are both into rather complex lives which will need to be unraveled before they can be together as they were in the previous lives I wonder what Alice thinks of this new Bette?.
Thank you for the new update!
So, Bette has some her memories from this reality back, it’s good. But what strange that she still didn’t ask herself why Tina has different second name.
Ok, waiting for the next!
Hi MTS:
Wonderful chapter, more information for Bette’s brain, and I see that Tina is very eager to talk and interact with Bette, Maybe she is also the woman of her dreams.
So sad that Dana would, eventually, be gone.
Bette is definitely changing and adapting to her new life, and now with Tina at her side, she may find out why they change into a parallel reality.
Thank you for the chapter, and pps.
P
Very interesting story!
Waiting when Bette will find out about Tina’s marriage and how she’ll react on this.
Very nice update thank you.. interesting.. and I love Dana.
Very interesting way to prove that Bette was not dreaming…LOL. Nice chapter, hopefully T + B can speak on the phone undisturbed – meaning, maybe there is no more Eric or anyone to distract Tina from the call.
The whole Bette and Dana conversation about shitting in your dreams had me in stitches. I means tears rolling down my cheeks laughing. This chapter was fun to watch ultra Type A not have a control at all, watching her get irritated and frustrated ready to flop down to die from her mindfuck.
Brilliant!
Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was really fun to write and picture Bette freaking out.
