“And you’re sure everything is okay?” he asked.
“I’m sure, Dad. I’m sure. I had a really great time. I had such a great time I miss my friends and my dorm and my life. But you’re right. When I’m here, I’m here. I’m sorry.”
“Tell you what, make it up to me.”
“How?” asked Tina.
“I’m thinking of taking a run. Come with?” he asked.
Tina smiled. She’d always loved running with her father. “Really?” she asked.
“Yeah. You know you’re the only one that would ever keep me company on my runs. I’ve missed you.”
Tina smiled. “I’ve missed you, too.”
“Great. Then it’s all settled. Let’s head out in like an hour or so.”
“Deal.”
Stephen smiled. “Deal. I’ll let you tend to your lady-business.”
“Lady-business?”
“Whatever you women call it these days. Just be sure you bring your ‘A’ game. I’ve got tons of rich food to burn off.”
Tina chuckled, “My game has always been A+.”
“We’ll see,” he said, before planting a fatherly kiss on her forehead.
Stephen Kennard left feeling like he was king of the universe and Tina sat back down on her bed, wondering how she could balance the needs and attentions of all the people that she loved.
“Everything all right?” Bette asked.
Janice smiled softly and nodded. “It should be. We just have a few extremely temperamental clients. Sometimes they get agitated and the only thing that seems to calm them down is a set of new promises and a little sweet talk from me.”
Richard closed the door behind her and slid back into the driver’s seat. Pulling away from the curb, he headed in the direction of the destination Janice had given him a short while ago.
“So you got them all calmed down?” asked Bette.
“I did and now I’m famished. Are you hungry?”
“I am.”
“Great. We’re heading over to this little Bistro not far from the house. I’m sorry I had to bail on you. Did you enjoy seeing the city?”
Bette smiled. “I did. I think I’m really going to like it here. And Richard took very good care of me.”
“I’m glad. I figured we could get something to eat and then head home and relax. The MET is closed on Mondays, but I know that Valerie will be there and I wanted to take you in to get acquainted with her. And I believe you start next Monday, right?”

Tina is in SF for a week and Bette in NYC for the summer,will Tina go to NYC to be with Bette are take extra classes at school. EcplIN TO THIS DUMB HEAD THANKS

Hey MTS, Thanks for another great update. I hope Tina takes Bette’s advice and tries to enjoy her time at home instead of sitting around sulking. I’ve only seen Laurel Holloman in Angel (the tv series) and it was such a different vibe than Tina, but she still rocked the role. PPS!
Geez I thought they were gonna be apart ‘all’ summer not just a week…or is it longer? The way T’s feeling a week equals forever. Love your story as always. Thx.
Hello MTS, Wonderful to have another fine and fabulous chapter from you. I just love how Bette and Tina’s worlds are opening up. Yes, they belong together and each know this but it doesn’t mean that they can’t experience the rest of the world. Bette need’s time to get to know her mother and her life. Good to see that Bette has an ally in Richard. I am sure he can guide her through the ups and downs of the NYC gay scene. And Tina does need to chill out and be herself around her Mom and Dad. There is a sense taht they both love and cherish her. OK being gay might be a shock to them and not the type of information they want broadcast around town but it is who Tina is. I do hope that if they find out then they remember that Tina is their child and deserves their love not matter who she loves. Just so heartfelt and emotional. I love every word. I jst can’t wait to read more of this delicious drama. Thank you so much for continuing this journey with Baby Bette and Tina. Your Loyal Fan.

awe they miss each other and i think tina’s family will find out sooner than later, but i wonder how hey react?? :)
i wonder if tina’s family will find out about her and bette in the week that tina’s stays with them and if they will, what will be their reaction…thanks for update
This story is so wonderfully written. The dynamics between Tina and Bette and their Moms are spot on to the situations you’ve laid out. I look forward to reading more and finding out if Tina comes out to her family.
