    The Slow Burn

Tina looks into Bette’s eyes, seeing the raw honesty there. She sniffles, wiping her tears, and manages a small, shaky smile.

    Tina: You really mean that?

Bette: (nodding) I do. And if you need me to say it a thousand more times, I will.

Tina hesitates for a moment before leaning forward and wrapping her arms around Bette’s shoulders, burying her face in Bette’s neck. Bette holds her gently, her hands resting on Tina’s back as she whispers soothing words.

Tina: (muffled) Promise me, Bette. Promise me you won’t break my heart.

Bette: (softly, firmly) I promise, Tina. I’ll do everything I can to keep your heart safe.

They stay like that for a while, the storm outside mirroring the emotional storm inside. Slowly, Tina pulls back, her cheeks flushed but her eyes calmer.

    Tina: Thank you. For… everything.

Bette: (smiling) Thank you for trusting me.

Tina gives her a small nod, and Bette moves back to the bed, giving her space again. They sit in comfortable silence, the sound of the rain outside filling the room. For the first time in a long time, Tina feels a glimmer of hope.

Over the next few weeks, Bette and Tina fall into an easy rhythm. They exchange sweet messages throughout the day, their relationship growing stronger. Bette’s patience and sincerity are a constant reassurance for Tina, who begins to let her walls down little by little. They go to movies, have dinner dates, and spend time talking for hours, learning every little detail about each other. For the first time in a long while, Tina feels safe and valued, while Bette feels something genuine and deep, she’s never felt before.

    The Late Night Call

Tina is curled up in bed, her reading glasses slipping down her nose as she lazily flips through a book. The soft glow of her bedside lamp casts a golden hue over the room, wrapping her in warmth. Just as she’s about to turn the page, her phone buzzes on the nightstand. A smile instantly tugs at her lips when she sees Bette’s name flashing on the screen. She picks up.

Tina (softly, smiling): You’re calling me late. Couldn’t sleep?

Bette (teasing): Couldn’t stop thinking about you.

Tina (laughs, shaking her head): Smooth.

    1. One of my favorite lines – “We’d be the dog eared page someone can’t bear to forget. A story that lingers, long after the last word is read. The kind that refuses to fade, because love like this doesn’t belong to time it belongs to forever.” Exactly Bette & Tina.

I’m loving their romantic, sweet interactions. The Slow Burn – I’m here for it. Worried about what Henry will do…

      Great story!

      • Thank you so much
That line is one of my favorites too I really wanted to capture the kind of timeless, unforgettable love Bette and Tina share. I’m so happy you’re enjoying the slow burn and their growing connection. And yes, Henry is definitely the dark cloud looming over their sunshine. Things are about to get even more intense.

      • Thank you so much I’m so glad you’re enjoying the story. The road ahead is filled with twists, turns, and tender moments can’t wait to share what’s coming next

    2. Hello, I love this fic. I almost had a heart attack when I read the first chapter, I thought it was going to be a softer beginning. I love their beginning story though. I have a feeling that Henry is going to get aggressive with Tina in an effort to show her they should be together. If not that he will probably try to set Bette up, so Tina thinks she is cheating. I hope she can see through an attempt like that. If he does get aggressive with Tina, I hope Bette catches him in the act and kicks his butt. I am thoroughly enjoying this, please continue.

      • Thank you so much I know the first chapter came in like a storm definitely not the soft beginning you might’ve expected But I’m so glad you’re loving Bette and Tina’s origin story.

And wow, you’re very on point with your predictions Let’s just say Henry’s not done causing trouble, but Bette’s not backing down either. There are some intense moments ahead, but also a lot of growth,

Thank you again for reading and sharing your thoughts it truly means the world More coming soon.
