    Bette: What? It’s the truth. I was lying here, wondering if you were awake, picturing you all cozy in bed with that book you always fall asleep reading.

    Tina (playfully dramatic): Are you spying on me? Because that is exactly what I’m doing right now.

    Bette (chuckling): I just know you too well.

    Tina (smirking): Alright, psychic lady, what book am I reading?

    Bette (smugly): Something romantic. Something that makes you swoon but also makes you cry just a little.

    Tina (gasping): Okay, that’s actually freaky. You’re right.

    Bette (smirking): I always am. Now, tell me… would you like to meet me tomorrow for a perfectly romantic date at our favorite bookshop?

    Tina (pretending to consider it): Hmm… will there be coffee?

    Bette: Not just buy you a coffee I’ll even let you steal sips from mine.

    Tina: Tempting… What else?

    Bette: Long walks between bookshelves, whispered poetry, and me staring at you like you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

    Tina (blushing, biting her lip): You’re dangerously good at this.

    Bette (softly): It’s easy when it’s you.

    Tina rolls onto her side, holding the phone closer, letting Bette’s voice wrap around her like a warm embrace.

    Bette (dramatic sigh): I don’t think you understand how hard it is to fall asleep when I’m thinking about you. You’ve completely ruined my ability to rest.

    Tina (giggling): Oh no, what a tragedy.

    Bette (grinning): It really is. I toss, I turn, I sigh dramatically into my pillow. The only cure would be if you were here to cuddle me to sleep.

    Tina (teasing): Hmm, sounds like someone is very needy.

    Bette (chuckling): I’m only needy for you.

    Tina (laughing softly): That was smooth.

    Bette (playfully): Oh, I’m just getting started. If you were here, I’d pull you into my arms, trace soft patterns on your back, and whisper sweet things until you fall asleep.

    Tina (smiling, eyes fluttering closed): And what kind of sweet things?

    Bette (softly, sincerely): Like how breathtaking you are. How I love the way your eyes light up when you talk about something, you’re passionate about. How your laugh is my favorite sound in the world.

    Tina (blushing, whispering): Bette…

    Bette (smirking): And, of course, I’d remind you multiple times that you drive me completely insane in the best way possible.

    3. Hello, I love this fic. I almost had a heart attack when I read the first chapter, I thought it was going to be a softer beginning. I love their beginning story though. I have a feeling that Henry is going to get aggressive with Tina in an effort to show her they should be together. If not that he will probably try to set Bette up, so Tina thinks she is cheating. I hope she can see through an attempt like that. If he does get aggressive with Tina, I hope Bette catches him in the act and kicks his butt. I am thoroughly enjoying this, please continue.
