Angie nods solemnly before resting her head on Bette’s shoulder and looking at Tina. “I’m sorry Mama T; I wasn’t trying to be hurtful. I know you love me and are here when I need you.”

Tina quickly wipes a stray tear and smiles at her daughter. “I do – I do love you… more than anything in this whole world.” Tina stares lovingly at her ex-wife and daughter, the similarities – in both features and personality – so striking. She’s pulled from her thoughts when she feels Carrie’s hand grasp her own. She smiles anxiously at her fiancé. Carrie nods her head toward Angie, hoping to encourage Tina to just rip off the band aid and tell her daughter about their impending nuptials. When Tina looks to Bette, she notes the plastered smile but receives a nod of encouragement from her as well. Tina clears her throat. “Well… Angie… me, Mama B, and Carrie wanted to talk to you. We have some… pretty exciting news and want to… celebrate it with you.”

Angie can feel Bette tensing beside her but when she glances up, she still sees the same forced smile. “Okay, what’s the news Mama T?”

Tina audibly swallows before trying to muster some enthusiasm knowing this is unlikely to be received well. “Um… well… Carrie asked me to marry her, and I said yes. We’re getting married.”

The room is quickly enveloped in silence. Heaviness sits on Tina’s chest as she takes in the poorly masked devastation on both Porter faces. Doubt… uncertainty… regret all begin to push their way from her subconscious where she had ignored their existence; the feelings now invading every cell as they flow unhindered through her veins. The shattering moment is interrupted and juxtaposed next to Carrie’s abiding happiness. “Isn’t that great Angelica?! Aren’t you just so happy for your Mama T?! We definitely want you to be in the wedding too! I was thinking you could come stay with me and Tina while we’re here since you see Bette all the time. You and I can really bond and get to know one another.”

Carrie continues joyously rambling to Angie while Bette and Tina continue to stare at one another – both tuned out to the world around them while tuned into the familiar and sacred world of their own. Tears pool in both hazel and brown eyes. “T…” Bette whispers before being thrust out of their connection and into reality by Angie’s sudden movement.

    1. I certainly hope the L Word writers are reading this!!!!!

Awesome story – so heart wrenching & then so hopeful!!!!

Angie can bring them back together & get Bette to fight for Tina.

Thank you so much for the terrific story!!!!!

    2. Wonderful! Exactly what I thought about their marriage and reason for divorce.

I like Carrie’s cameo appearance. Come in, say the wrong words and disappear again for good.

    3. We must hope the Writers have the same thoughts in mind!

Enjoyed this so believable storyline and cried all the way through!
Tears of sorrow and tears of joy!

      Thank you
      SG

    4. We need to print and send to Showtime! If they want Tibette “drama” then they can write about the sessions with Dr Foxworthy!

Or we can write some scenes of creative Tibette slap bit*^ches off off of these two!!!!

Stop tearing apart this family!!! How about A
adding some more children to the Porter-Kennard clan to increase adventure scenarios

    5. It’s a beautiful story, Thank you!

Like others i wish we could see something like that on the screen in s2 Gen. Q.

By the way – i still think that even suggest that Bette could be with them when Tina would tell Angie about her marriage was most stupid Tina’s line in that dinner in Bette’s house in GQ.

    6. Wow!!!!

How wonderful it would be if this happened in Generation Q!

I wish you were the writer for the show !!!

It was so beautiful how Bette explained to Angelica that she was responsible for making their marriage fail!

I had tears in my eyes!

I am so grateful to you for this story, to ease the pain caused by the last episode.

I really hope this will happen in the last episode or in the second season, but it probably won’t. Marja doesn’t care about Tibette and the fans. She only cares about the newbies. Those are her creations, but they are not (yet) able to make the show successful.

Thank you so much for this wonderful story!!!

    7. Wow…this was powerful! Beautifully written. It really grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Thank you for sharing this with us and taking up the challenge…I think you succeeded!! :-)

    8. This is January 2020….this very well could be the best story of the year…. Wonder dialogue and storyline. I just cannot see Bette and Tina splitting permanently. I just cannot see how they would not find each other in some way or another and this story certainly shows the path. This does not mean their lives will be happily ever after, but it sure gives all of us TiBette fans hope. Bette and Tina love each other and always will. It’s just a matter of creating a relationship in which they can live together.

      Wonderful…Wonderful Wonder.

    9. Agree completely with all the other comments! Hope the writers read this wonderful story by Elizabeth (thank you!). It certainly has my vote to win this challenge. ????????
