Walk On By—Chapter 6
“Bette…You are way over your head here. You obviously did not prepare to be betting this high as the pot is at $800,000. She throws in three $100,000 chips in the center. “You are going to have to go all in?” She says to me as I tap my finger on my two cards.
“Catherine…If you are so sure I am way over my head then why don’t you go all in. Every little chip in your possession. What do you have to lose?” I say still tapping on my two cards
She thinks for a moment and it’s obvious she is confident and her smugness just oozes from her that I see her push all of her chips to the center
“Your turn Bette” she says as I push the rest of my chips into the center
“All in” I reply as Catherine places the next burner card down and flips over the fifth and final card revealing the Ace of clubs
Catherine throws her head back and laughs as she turns over her two cards revealing the Ace of hearts and Ace of Diamonds giving her a Three of a Kind
“Sorry Bette but I will be needing you to deliver that Berigni to my house as soon as possible and I will give you the chips to cash out for Helena’s payment. She is free and clear and with that free to leave my house” she says smugly as she places her hands on the pile of chips.
I place my hand on top of hers stopping her and place my two cards down on the table. Her face registered shock and disbelief
“Not so fast…I believe these are mine” I say as I take her hands off the chips as she stares at my King of Clubs and Queen of Clubs giving me a Royal Flush
I wave the poker attendant over who had been watching and instruct him to cash out the chips which he began to gather
Catherine is watching him blankly as I shake my head
“Catherine…It’s been a pleasure playing you this evening and I mean that in the most sincere way. Because honey…You just got played” I say amused at the dumbfounded look on her face
“But how?..I mean..I’ve never seen a royal flush ever..” she said looking at me astonished
“Not true Catherine…You just did” I smile as she glared at me “Now if you’ll excuse me. I have important people that I want to spend time with”
I take a step and turn back to Catherine
“And Catherine?..One more thing..Don’t you ever come anywhere near Helena again because if you do you are going to have to deal with me….And it won’t be playing poker.” I warn as I turn back around and head for the cashier not looking back

Don’t mess with Bette. Royal flush. Yes you were played!
Wow, that was as lucky as you get!! One hand and its all over…… Three of a kind is usually a strong hand, but it can be beat – a flush of any kind would beat it. A straight of any kind would beat it. Four of a kind would beat it, and a Full house would beat it….. but that which beats everything in a Royal Flush.
That was a high stakes gamble with that painting…..3.5 million, less the 850K, less Helena’s freedom, plus whatever chips she brought to the table – was her maximum loss. But for to Bette, it was worth the risk…. and win or lose, Helena would be free and have her earnings. That is a huge sacrifice Bette was willing to make for Helena. I mean huge…. This Bette has the heart and sole of a saint. Fortunately, Lady Luck smiled upon her. Oh, that I had a friend like Bette Potter!
Thank you for telling this story….. amazing chapter really….. can’t wait for the next chapter….
Way to go Bette! Just love her!
Thanks for the Chapter, really enjoyed it, post more soon.

Way to go Bette! One hand, Wow!
Oh god, this was fantastic!!!
Don’t ever play games with Bette Porter! Wow, game, set and match, bye bye Catherine!
Wow, well that was some poetic justice. Catherine doesn’t know what hit her. She can’t even say that Bette cheated because she dealt the hand herself. I wonder how Bette got so good and lucky at poker? I can’t wait for the next chapter to see what is next.
Please update this story please. Game over you she-devil. Never mess with Bette Porter
