    Bette sighed and I see her shoulders slump slightly “Tee..I spent a lot of time being angry about what had happened with the CAC along with your brief fling with her but I wasn’t innocent either.  Everyone deserves a second chance and Helena has proven she isn’t the bitch she clearly set herself out to

    Bette sighed and I see her shoulders slump slightly

    “Tee..I spent a lot of time being angry about what had happened with the CAC along with your brief fling with her but I wasn’t innocent either.  Everyone deserves a second chance and Helena has proven she isn’t the bitch she clearly set herself out to be.  I think because of Alice who always sees the good in people, Helena was able to see the importance of friendship.  It was far more valuable to her than being the calculating and vindictive fire breathing dragon she was”

    I had to chuckle at that remembering Bette going off about her being a monster that would eat me alive

    “What’s so funny” Bette asks as I turn and smile at her

    “Just remembering the time you called me and went on your tirade about Helena”

    I see her roll her eyes

    “Yeah.  I was consumed with distaste for her at the time but seriously it was warranted.  She’s nothing like that now..I mean hell it’s almost sad to see how submissive she has become”

    I can’t help but agree at that

    “Yeah…When Peggy cut her off financially and took Shaolin away from her she spiraled down into depression.  Alice immediately let her stay in her apartment since she is practically living with Dana”

    Bette chuckled “Speaking of Alice and Dana.  Don’t think I didn’t know what you and Dana were whispering about.  Alice can be oblivious at times but you have to wake up early to get anything over on me”

    I chuckle “Oh really..Ok then..What were we whispering about?”

    “Alice grabbing Dana’s hand..I noticed at the party Alice needing to latch on to Dana whenever she is near.  I think in almost losing Dana she feels the need to constantly touch her to make sure she is still there.  To be honest those two could use some therapy of their own.  Now that Dana is stronger she and Alice need to deal with the codependency thing they have going on…They need to get that out of the way if they are ever going to be a couple again”

    I look at Bette amazed and chuckle softly “Who are you and what have you done with Bette Porter?”

    2. Wow, that was as lucky as you get!! One hand and its all over…… Three of a kind is usually a strong hand, but it can be beat – a flush of any kind would beat it. A straight of any kind would beat it. Four of a kind would beat it, and a Full house would beat it….. but that which beats everything in a Royal Flush.

      That was a high stakes gamble with that painting…..3.5 million, less the 850K, less Helena’s freedom, plus whatever chips she brought to the table – was her maximum loss. But for to Bette, it was worth the risk…. and win or lose, Helena would be free and have her earnings. That is a huge sacrifice Bette was willing to make for Helena. I mean huge…. This Bette has the heart and sole of a saint. Fortunately, Lady Luck smiled upon her. Oh, that I had a friend like Bette Potter!

      Thank you for telling this story….. amazing chapter really….. can’t wait for the next chapter….

    6. Wow, well that was some poetic justice. Catherine doesn’t know what hit her. She can’t even say that Bette cheated because she dealt the hand herself. I wonder how Bette got so good and lucky at poker? I can’t wait for the next chapter to see what is next.
