Jim – Maria will let you in.

Tina – Thanks!

Maria – Good morning, Ms Kennard! Please come in.

Tina – Good morning, Maria!

She takes the steps up to the porch and enters the house, while Jim pulls Charlie by the rein and walks him over to the stable.

Ranch house, mid morning: The inside of the main house is no less beautiful than the outside, with a high twenty-foot ceiling revealing the exposed and gigantic wood beams. Straight ahead, the foyer leads to stairs with intricately handcrafted wood railings meandering up to the second floor of the house. To the right, a large living room opens up, showing a wall to wall window with a view of the valley below and the mountains in the distance. And on the adjacent wall, a magnificent stone fireplace as tall as the ceiling. To the left, a library includes another beautiful stone fireplace surrounded by windows with a view of the forest of pine trees and aspens, not far from the house. And on the adjacent wall, a wall to wall bookcase behind a large wooden desk and elegant chair. Maria points to one of the sofas in the living room.

Maria – Please sit down. She will be here in a minute.

Tina – Thank you!

Tina sits down and studies the main room of the mansion. She soon stands up, admiring the architecture of the room, and walks over to the fireplace.  The white stone contrasts with the dark red tint of the wood beams in a perfect combination of colors. The view of the valley in the distance is striking.

A few minutes later, an attractive black woman appears at the entrance to the room and approaches her with a smile.

Woman – There you are!

The blonde turns around and smiles back.

Tina – Hello, Ms. Porter!

The woman gives her a hug.

Woman – Oh girl, you can call me Kit! I’m not that old!

She looks at the blonde.

Kit – You sure are pretty, Tina! Pretty and young!

Tina chuckles.

Tina – Thanks, Kit! So are you!

The older woman waves a hand in the air dismissively.

Kit – After you hit 40, gravity starts taking a toll!
