She points to the cowgirl.
Tina – Employing women in the stable …
Kit turns toward the stable and smiles.
Kit – Ahhh … the cowgirl! That one … is something else!
The blonde nods.
Tina – I noticed …
Kit turns to the blonde with raised eyebrows.
Kit – You did?!
Tina – I … we met at the gate to the ranch.
Kit – Ohhh …
The older woman smirks.
Kit – … why am I not surprised …
The blonde frowns clueless.
Kit – And what exactly did you notice?
Tina smiles dismissively.
Tina – Oh, nothing …
Kit – She is beautiful, that one! But she is known to have a temper. She didn’t …?
Tina – No … please.
Kit – Because if she did anything to upset you, I will need to have a word with her!
Tina – No, no … nothing like that.
Kit chuckles.
Kit – Then what, girl?!
Tina – Please, I don’t want anyone to get in trouble. It was absolutely nothing!
Kit – Get in trouble??
The ranch owner laughs out loud.
Kit – Don’t worry, girl! I couldn’t get that one in trouble even if I wanted! And believe me, I’ve tried a few times!
Tina looks surprised. Kit pulls the blonde by the arm.
Kit – Let me show you the stable!
They walk toward the stable. As they approach, the ranch owner greets the cowgirl from a distance.
Kit – There you are, Missy!
The cowgirl turns around with a broad smile, which disappears into a surprised look when she sees the blonde. She watches the blonde as they approach while Tina admires the architecture of the stable, avoiding eye contact. As the women reach the stable, their eyes finally meet.
Cowgirl – I can see that you followed my advice. I told you he was good!
Tina – I would do it myself if I had more time. But I had a meeting with Ms. Porter.
The cowgirl smirks.
Cowgirl – Right …
The blonde looks annoyed. Kit turns to the cowgirl with a knowing look.
Kit – So you know each other.
Tina answers dryly.
Tina – Not exactly!
Cowgirl – We just met at the gate. Her car was blocking Charlie’s way.
Tina – Not for long!
She turns to Kit.
Tina – I got a flat.
The ranch owner turns to the cowgirl.
Kit – You didn’t help her?!
The brunette smirks.
Cowgirl – She told me to stay away.
Tina – I told you that I could do it myself!
Cowgirl – No, you told me to turn around and leave!
The two women stare at each other. The blonde looks annoyed. The brunette turns to Kit.
Cowgirl – I called Jim to help her.
Kit – Uh-huh …
She turns to Tina.
Kit – Well, Tina, I apologize for this one. I told you that she is something else!
She turns to the brunette and pulls a lock of her hair.
Kit – She never learns!
Cowgirl – Ouch! Kit!
The blonde looks surprised with the intimacy.
Kit – Bette, meet Tina Kennard, the movie producer I told you about.
The brunette looks surprised. Kit turns to Tina.
Kit – Tina, meet my baby sis, Bette Porter!
