Who’s Your Heart Chasing? – Chapter Two

“Bette, Angie isn’t small anymore and she knows a lot more than you think she does. You and Tina have been apart for years, I don’t think you realize the impact this has on her.”
“I know she’s not young anymore and I can’t shield her from what’s happening. But I still try to. I think that’s my mistake.” I look behind me to Tina and Angie still talking.
“She’s worried about Carrie.”
“I didn’t mean to cause this. I know how much Carrie meant to Tina.”
“But at the end of the day Bette, you’ll always love Tina more than anyone.”
I look Shane in the eyes knowing how right she is. Knowing that statement is not up for debate.
___
Tina
“I don’t know when or if I’ll ever get to speak to Carrie again but I do know she cared about you, Angie.”
“I’m not little anymore mom, but I just want to know if you and Mama plan on getting back together?”
I look down at my feet and back at my daughter. “None of that is at the table right now, me and your Mama B are more concerned about you.”
“Is Mama B to blame?”
“I don’t know if you overheard anything that was said between your mama and I but I did blame her.” I take Angie’s hand in mine. “But please don’t blame her. Let her talk to you first.”
___
Bette
I turn my head towards the feel of Tina’s touch on my shoulder.
“You should go take a turn at talking to your daughter.”
I nod my head. “How did it go with you?”
“I told her everything she wanted to know.”
I stand on my feet and head towards Angie.
“Hey.” I say taking a seat across from her. “I understand your mom told you everything you wanted to know.”
“She did. But what I don’t understand is why did you do it?”
“What do you mean?”
“Mama T told me she blamed you, so you had to do something.”
“Angie, your mom means more to me than you’ll ever imagine possible. Me and your mom have a long history even before you were born. She means the utmost world to me. And so do you sweetie. I live and love for you both.”

I just discovered your story and I’m very intrigued. It’s different from the other stories i have read.
It’s really weird Carrie has contact with Angie but doesn’t reach out to Tina to talk and find closure. That she and Bette doesn’t get along and tolerated each other for Angie’s sake i understand but i always felt Carrie tried to pull Angie in and tried in a sneaky way to get Angie on her side and put negative thoughts about her Mama B into her.
And Tina, so far i don’t like your version of her, blaming Bette for everything while she is as much to blame. Poor Bette, she always takes the blame and accept it, thinks herself she is the one who messed up. In this case it’s Tina who asked Bette if she was still in love with her while she already knew that answer. Maybe Bette’s timing could have been better but still it’s Tina who started this mess with her question to Bette.
I hope you will post a new chapter soon and to read about Carrie’s and Tina’s conversation.
