Who’s Your Heart Chasing? – Chapter Two

“I know you love Mama but I thought Mama was happy with Carrie.”

“And so did I. But things change whether we want them to or not.”

    ___

    Tina

I watch from afar while talking with Shane.

“I hate to mention this to you Tina but have you heard from Carrie?”

“She won’t answer my calls or messages.”

“Do you think you’ll ever hear from her again?”

“I don’t know what to think anymore, Shane. I don’t even know what I’m doing.”

“Listen Tina, you should take some time to yourself, figure out what your heart is truly chasing.”

    “It’s chasing Bette, Shane.”

“Don’t run after it, walk slowly towards it. One step at a time.”

I sit there soaking in what Shane is telling me. I’m lost for words and for thoughts. My leg starts to shake up and down as I watch Angelica and Bette. Just wondering what is being said is enough to rush my mind into a frenzy. But Shane is right, I have a lot to process before I can even have “the talk” with Bette about where this next chapter brings us.

    ___

    Bette

“I love you Angie, forever and always and I always want to put you first even when I know I mess that up sometimes. But Mama T and I have a lot of talking to do. A lot of things to sort out. I just want to know that you are ok with all of this.”

“I guess I never really thought of you and Mama T getting back together. It’s been such a long time since I even saw you and Mama T communicating about something other than me.”

    “Our main concern is you.”

“Can we go home now?” She asks me with a sparkle that glimmers in her eye.

“I would like that very much.” I wait for her to stand before standing myself and walking her over to the bar.

“How are you feeling now Angie?” Shane asks her with a smile.

    “I’m good, thanks Auntie Shane.”

    “Anytime.”

I smile at Shane then look over to Tina.

Tina stands to her feet and looks between me and Angie. “Angie, honey can I talk to your Mama B for a second?”

She nods her head and I walk to the front door with Tina.

    1. I just discovered your story and I’m very intrigued. It’s different from the other stories i have read.

It’s really weird Carrie has contact with Angie but doesn’t reach out to Tina to talk and find closure. That she and Bette doesn’t get along and tolerated each other for Angie’s sake i understand but i always felt Carrie tried to pull Angie in and tried in a sneaky way to get Angie on her side and put negative thoughts about her Mama B into her.

And Tina, so far i don’t like your version of her, blaming Bette for everything while she is as much to blame. Poor Bette, she always takes the blame and accept it, thinks herself she is the one who messed up. In this case it’s Tina who asked Bette if she was still in love with her while she already knew that answer. Maybe Bette’s timing could have been better but still it’s Tina who started this mess with her question to Bette.

I hope you will post a new chapter soon and to read about Carrie’s and Tina’s conversation.
