It occurred to me one day that when The L Word was on Showtime, I hardly watched any other TV shows, with a few notable exceptions. I don’t know why really, it’s not like I was addicted to it or anything. I love to watch TV and at times I watch a lot of TV but at that time nothing seemed really entertaining and gripping enough to hold my interest for a long time.
Since The L Word ended I’ve been waiting for another show that would capture my attention fully. There are a few shows I enjoy tremendously and some of them were able to fill the void left by The L Word. And here we go again. All the TV networks had announced their 2011-2012 schedules and we are going to take a look at the new pilots, lucky returning shows, and unfortunate canceled ones. And while I’m at it, I’ll point out any potential LGBT characters and storylines we might expect in the new TV season.
A fair warning: if there are any side remarks about the upcoming shows, they express my personal opinions and in no way should influence your decisions on what to watch.
The 2011-2012 Fall Schedule: ABC
This network had some hits and misses in the past and the only two shows I was watching for the past few years were Modern Family and Castle. I have to admit that Castle is one of my guilty pleasures. I began watching this show since the beginning because I was interested in the concept of a writer following a police detective around and helping solving crimes.

My interest in this show was even more enforced when I found out that some of my favorite cast members from The L Word were going to appear on the show. They were Laurel Holloman and Anne Ramsay. Actually, I had an interview with Anne a few years back and we talked about her role on Castle.
