[Returning show Cougar Town and a new show Apartment 23 will air Tuesdays starting at 9:00 p.m. after Dancing with the Stars ends]
Tuesday brings us the results of the DWTS and the return of Dana Delany’s drama Body of Proof. To be honest, Body of Proof didn’t hold my interest past the first few episodes and even then I watched it only because I absolutely love Dana Delany, especially after she told me in our 2009 GLAAD interview that she was sorry that she didn’t get to kiss Jennifer Beals. Ever since she appeared in The L Word as hot Senator Grisham, I have always followed her TV appearances.
Two new comedies were added to the Tuesday schedule, both seemed to be telling the stories from the men’s point of view, judging by the titles.
Last Man Standing brings back Tim Allen, whose last appearance on a TV network was in 1999 when his series Home Improvement had ended. It’s a family sitcom/comedy in which Tim Allen plays a father who is confused by the modern society. He wants men to be men in the world that is dominated by women. Press release describes it as “it’s a woman’s world, and this man’s man is on a mission to get men back to their rightful place in society,” mainly because Allen’s character is pulled into more parenting after his wife was promoted at work and her work load had increased.
Man Up is another Pilot picked up by ABC that is a comedy about “three modern men who try to get in touch with their inner tough guys and redefine what it means to be a ‘real man’.” It stars Chris Moynihan, Dan Fogler and Mather Zickel.
Not sure that either show will turn out to be the hits but there’s always an audience for these types of comedies.
