B&TF: Did you only film one day?
AR: No, it was a guest star spot and I worked three days. We started last Thursday, and then I worked Tuesday and Friday.
B&TF: You said before you were playing a music teacher or something?
AR: A music producer. My artist left before finishing her record. I put a lot of money in this record and she left me high and dry in the middle of it and…and that’s all I’m going to tell you (laughing).

B&TF: I like this show. It has crime element and also humor, and I like that it revolves around a writer following a detective around.
AR: Yeah, it is unique. You’d think how can a dramedy work in a crime show? But it does, I think, it does. Going back to Nathan, he’s a big old Apple fan, and iPhone fan and I just got my iPhone and he saw it and he goes, “Hmm, looks like a new iPhone. Do you need a case, Anne?” And I was like, “What do you mean? Do you think I should get one?” And he goes, “Yeah, I’ll be right back.” So he just runs off to his trailer and comes back with this case. He let me do it. He was just really sweet. He just wanted to help and I thought, “Does he have a thousand cases in his trailer?” (laughing) It was so sweet. We are always heads down in our iPhones, it’s ridiculous. Our society is isolating, it’s not the best thing.
B&TF: It’s true, though. What do you think about all these Internet things, like Facebook or Twitter? It’s so popular right now, including celebrities.
AR: I’m going to say something crazy. I don’t know if it’s good or bad but I remember when I was a teenager Sony Walkman came out. I thought, “That’s bad.” I had this silent thought or theory that it could isolate all of us. We all can be in our own little world with our own little headphones on. I thought that it was a bad thing for connecting and interacting with your fellow humans (laughing). It was crazy but that’s the first thing I thought of. It doesn’t help us come together. And technology is amazing. It’s amazing what I can do with this iPhone. It’s a first time I had one while working and it doesn’t make me to connect with the cast and crew. I’m in my own world, I’m not being very present where I am.
B&TF: It’s like no one is socializing and just sitting in their trailers and texting…
AR: Yeah, or sitting on set and texting. And everyone’s doing it and I don’t know if that’s good but here I am, doing the same thing. It means I’m a hypocrite.
B&TF: Well, you know, these things can be really addicting.
AR: Yes, and I’m a very addictive person. If only I would leave it maybe my trailer or turn it off. I think it’s really important to do that. Anyway, that’s my two cents on that but I love it, obviously. Let’s see, Stana was awesome to me. We sat down for our first scene and she said, “Thank you, it’s so sweet for you to do this. I know your body of work.” She doesn’t have to say that and it was very generous for fellow actor to say that, especially to another female.
B&TF: Did she know you were on The L Word?
AR: She didn’t mention The L Word. She just said she knew my work but I don’t know what she’d referred to and I didn’t ask, “What do you mean? Let’s talk more about me” (laughing). She was just awesome and I had a great experience. Do you want to know one more thing about Nathan?
B&TF: Sure.
