Act XVI
Being Bette’s ’little brother’ James and his family were welcomed with open arms. Peggy really enjoyed having all the children around her. She’s known James for as long as she’s known Bette. She has affection for him; especially knowing how much he loved and cared for Bette over the years.
Bette and Tina returned from their Panama Canal cruise four days before Christmas. They were both so grateful to Peggy not only for the wonderful gift of the cruise, but also for arranging it to coincide with the opportunity to meet up with Marcus Allenwood in Central America. It was too soon to tell if the insemination had been successful, but they were all very hopeful.
Angie was happy to have her parent’s home, but she still insisted on staying with her grandmother especially after all the other kids got there. Angie hadn’t really known or understood the concept of a ‘grandmother’ until Peggy was introduced into her life a few months ago. Now they are inseparable. Peggy sees so much of Bette in Angie; especially in how deeply she loves and cares for the significant people in her life.
Although she was always close to Winnie, Wilson and Jang Yin Peggy never felt like her family was complete. The lack of a healthy mother/daughter relationship with Helena always left a void and sadness in her heart. Now that void has been filled by Bette Kennard-Porter. The sadness has been lifted by the love she feels for her and her family. Peggy has never felt love like this at any other time in her entire life. All the money in the world couldn’t buy this feeling, and she wouldn’t trade it for all the money in the world.
***
The holiday music playing from several speakers throughout the home has Peggy in the Christmas spirit, but it’s the distinct sound of chatter and laughter coming from the living room that brings great joy to her heart. She can’t help but smile at the sight of James, Winnie, Lisa, Bette, Tina, Angie, Wilson, Jang Yin, Zach, Sophie, and Joey all sitting on the floor in the middle of a massive mess of tangled lights, ornaments and tree decorations.

Very nice holidays….nice trip for Bette and Tina in celebration of Bette’s birthday. Things are really going well for this family. Love how Angie and Peggy are so into each other. I am amazed that Peggy has taken on her role as grandmother as much as she has. Of course she has a full staff to assist with the mundane duties of cooking and cleaning which comes from a house full of people.
I presume that Sampson is a Pomeranian pup? I had a neighbor who had a red (orange) one. His name was Copper. I loved his cut little fox like face. Black eyes and black nose and wild fluffy orange fur. I always left my back door open for the cat to come in and out. So Copper would come visit us frequently. Sweet friendly little dog.
So Tina was tired on Christmas Eve? Could she possibly be pregnant? I assume we will see in the near future.
Thanks for this lovely chapter…..

Let we ???? that they made a baby while away on the cruise.
